You head downstairs. Outside, People are walking up and down the street. Gathered around the Kitchen Window are three of the Beggars you saw last night, the Tall, lanky, beardless one standing to one side eating some soup, the short, stocky long-bearded one right at the window, and one of the Dragon-People looking suspiciously at her bowl of soup, all joined by the Grey-haired Man running the Kitchen.

‘So what do you make of it?’ says the Short one, as the Dragon-Lady takes a taste of the soup.
‘... Chicken? No... not a bird... insect. Definitely insect.’ Comes the reply.
‘It wouldn’t be... Who was it... You know the one, the Merchant who was here yesterday, remember Him?’
The Grey-haired cook chimes in; ‘Don’t even suggest it, the Lancers’re pissed enough already. That... being said though... it was Fiacra who brought the Meat... so... uh...’
‘Hey, the New Fellah’s up.’

The two Homeless People and the Cook turn to look at you, glad for a distraction. Soon, a bowl of soup that you don’t really want to eat anymore is thrust in your hand, and you’ve been incorporated into the chat. Soon the questions arrive; Your name, Your Species, Where you come from, Your, uh, Gender, and a few others besides. But before you can say anything, something happens inside you. Something clicks into place. You drop your bowl on the ground, and you take out The Orb. You hold it aloft.
"HERE YE HERE YE! I have right here an object of VAST MAGICAL POWER! That is right, VAST MAGICAL POWER! With an object so perfectly round and also vastly powerful, I have many enemies wishing to steal it from me. I would say definitely but I appear to have lost my memory. I hear from a reliable source that some of you guys may be murderers, spies, and gravediggers! This is great, because I'll probably need all three of those things in the very near future. This is your one chance at a steady job to put food on the table. Who is interested?"

The Short One, the Grey-Haired One, and the Dragon-esque one all stop in their tracks, mid sentence, and stare at you in a mixture of shock and horror, intrestingly enough. After a few wordless seconds pass, the various People walking up and down the street all having stopped to join in the staring, the Tall, Lanky One coughs, and opens his mouth to speak.
‘... I am!’

He walks up to you, and starts stammering out some words, almost unintelligably.
‘Uh... I’m, uh... I... live here? I suppose? I mean, I don’t really have a Home, per say, or weapons, but, y’know, I’m up for wealth, I suppose.’
The short, long-bearded One sees something, and shouts.
‘Wait! He’s going to-‘

You don’t hear the rest over the sound of a knife slashing your throat. The passer-bys stand back in shock, while the Dragon-Lady and the Bearded Man run towards you. You feel your neck dissolve as the blade runs through it, and dark, blue liquid gushes out onto the floor. Within moments, you feel your neck re-seal what parts it can, but thick, blue liquid, so dark as to be almost black, continues to flow down your chest from the bits of neck with wounds to big to be re-sealed. Your assailant doesn’t look like he expected you to survive that, but he isn’t going to let that stop him. He’s reaching for the orb.

I’m pretty sure that this is just his murderer interview. His technique needs work.

Put our blood on the orb, then slam it into his chest!

I’m going to have to ask if you want to do one specific action, or if you want to try and do all three actions at the same time. It’s not out of the question that before your little incident you were a black belt of a lethal juggling-based martial art, but you have like three seconds to knife him, wallop him, and anoint the Orb with your blood before thrusting it into his chest, and I just thought I’d ask first.

Your thoughts merge together. You make a descision. Your knee flies for his crotch...
