"Wait." You call after the leaving Silas, and he turns around, confused. You extend a hand, and he raises his brow and passes it over to you.

"I'm glad you view me with such high esteem, Lady Alphira."

You claim a seat on the medical bed and flip through the document. Its roughly organized, but you understand most of it, besides the higher-level technical jargon. Emma could probably explain some of the more complicated subjects to you.

You rise from the bed, stretching out your limbs as you begin to pace the breadth of your private hospital room, thinking. Then you pause, glancing at that line from the document with a small scowl.

"Project Alphira."  Are the Thorntons planning on experimenting on us?

i think that;s referring to the file Silas wrote about us

'He always seems to be in motion. Gone are the days of him laying in bed for hours on end. He is often on the track, pushing himself faster and faster. Or at the range, performing better and better shots with a monsterous Thornton Las-rifle.

' is what you were scowling at. I probably should have been more clear in my answer.

Why would we be scowling at William recovering?

Because he's powerful. Not as powerful as us, but as Emma said... something more than human. We'll have to be on our guard around him.

Too siimiliar.

With a sigh, you lay on the bed and stretch out, listening to the voices debate for a moment, until a familiar pang aches through you. The pain of abandonment. You rise swiftly, crossing the room and heading down the plain corridors to the Armorsmith. The corridors disorientate you, but you eventually find your way there. You armor sits on the central plinth, but you hesitate to approach it.

The breastplate is scored clean through, cracks radiating out in multiple places. The gauntlet is separated from the glove in its entirety, the thin membrane of gold and black that once held them together raggedly torn apart by the blow to your arm. Your weapons lie on the table in front of it-- the cleaned cutter hilt and the las-SMG. You approach the cutter hilt first, more comfortable holding the heavy chunk of tech than the armor that became a second skin. But you feel ill at the thought, concerned...perhaps a little fearful.

Perhaps in the morning... You reason. You glance at the clock nearby, noting that you have eight hours left before Emma and you go buy an outfit for the Thornton Family Funeral.

The armor is vital to our continued survival.  Put on the glove and assess the suit's status.

+1

Let's go get something to eat first, though. This thing's gonna be pulling a lot of nutrition off us.

[4 vs 9] No. You turn away from it, instead taking the cutter hilt holster and strapping it to your belt, slipping the hilt in after firmly securing the pliable leather.

[1 vs 18] No. Firmly.

You have eight hours left before Emma and you go buy an outfit for the Thornton Family Funeral.

Interesting.  It might be nice to get some more information on the war.  Have the demons been advancing due to a lack of manpower?
