Eric pulls off his helmet, shrugging his shoulders and glancing out towards the wasteland. "Permission to speak freely?" He asks, quietly.

"Granted."

"Many, many things. We're being fed ration cubes now. We have to pour vodka in our water just to disinfect it so we aren't -- getting sick, because our damn pump got screwed and no one has come to fix it." Eric sighs, "Then those damn things managed to put artillery pieces back together to give us hell. Their numbers keep getting stronger and stronger while we keep getting fresh-faced idiots who only end up dying."

He gestures over to the massive corpse lying just beyond the new fortification. "Then there are those things."

"And through it all high command's only fucking order? Hold the line. No shit. What else would we be doing?"

"These issues definitely need to be addressed, and I have a plan for doing so.  I will be meeting with high command in a couple of days.  Expect new orders, more helpful orders, shortly."

Funny how the tone of our voice fluctuates depending on who suggests the dialogue... rather illustrates the fractures in our personality, no? "Patches" indeed.

Muahhahaha

[Reboot Initiated. Please wait.]

"I'll take your word for it, Mother Alphira." Eric rises stiffly, slipping his helmet over his head and inspecting the line. A runner comes to speak with him, and is sent off towards the northern flank. You're left watching in silence, until your Warmachines return to you. One is indeed missing an arm but considering how those can be replaced. Gashes and pockmarks litter their thick armor, but they stand tall, hands-on guns and ready to fight.

"Lady Alphira." The Captain states, glancing towards the corpse of the Worm and slowly dropping to a knee. "Any further orders? Or should I call the ships back?"

Do we have time to rest here a bit and then continue the fight, or is the meeting imminent?

"I'd like to take a cross-section of the demon for analysis.  Perhaps Silas will be able to analyze it and determine its weaknesses."

+1 I’m guessing we have time, no way we’ve been here for 2 days, right?

Er, do we really want to be taking [plague]-infected tissue with us back into Holy City? Rogue nano-tech is bad news.

We'll take appropriate precautions.  Perhaps we can take it to a remote Thornton lab.

"If that's the plan," The Captain gestures over to the Crusaders who approach the creature with containers of what you can only assume to be ethanol or some other highly flammable material, "We might want to stop them."

I think it's worth a try as long as we are careful.

"Wait, don't destroy it entirely.  I want to take a sample for analysis."

It's easy to say "we'll be careful"... how are we going to transport this stuff?
