This is becoming strange and confusing.  William is our brother/son/clone, right?

That made me laugh hysterically.

Ah... successor, perhaps, would be the best term here. He's got some of our genetics in his blood for sure.

This has been strange and confusing ever since Rodstadt, truth be told. Won't be getting less so any time soon.

"Let's just pretend that this never happened.  Emma and I love each other and we are in a committed relationship."

"I don't know. I don't know. You were--"
"...you were bleeding. Bleeding. Broken. I couldn't go back to Emma and know-- I'd let her brother die--"

Sigh. "Brother. Brother-in-arms. Brother-in-law? But more than that-- I can't--"

--and a pause, and a breath, and what ZBridges said, with perhaps a "Please?" in the middle for good measure.

"I understand, and as such I've no clue what you're talking about now." William returns, politely, crisply, smiling as he packs up his sparring equipment with no real haste. "Regardless, the first non-Thornton Warmachine is in production -- that young lady who organized them all...and that hovercraft you wanted packed with cameras is due to arrive tomorrow morn. Emma mentioned something about arranging an escort of gunships for a flyover of Plague territory." William dutifully informs you, "Oh and Iyal returned for a bit to get some demolition charges. So she's still alive. Funnily enough, we only noticed because she left a receipt."

"The accountant is still faffing about with the production costs. We've managed to organize it into how much it would cost per Warmachine produced, so you can give an order for total number of units and send the bill to SEED, as usual."

"I'll accompany the flyover to ensure that it isn't intercepted.  Excellent, can you give me an estimate for what the cost per unit might look like?"

"Five to ten credits per." William replies, shrugging his shoulder. "So we'll say nine credits per Warmachine produced, equipped with only a Thornton assault rifle -- but that's not counting upkeep, salary, and so on. After the war, that price will change. It's on emergency discount right now."

"And should I still expect a production rate of four units per month?"

"Three would be a better estimate, so you're not disappointed when one dies or something. That includes therapy to get them used to it, and all that assorted training."

"If we wanted to ramp up production, what kind of investment would you need?"

"All told...Lets say ten thousand credits, and we can pump up production to sixteen a month. After that, we'll need time to train new sawbones and such."

That's... a lot.  I'm not sure if that would be feasible.
