Maria, since the conversation with the local had started, remained silent, standing to the side with her expression shrouded by the torchlight's shadows. She was not liking the way these negotiations were going, but it was not her duty to deal with locals and gain access to an ancient tomb. However, unless the Prince agreed to, she would not 'peacefully withdraw' until they retrieved the orb.

"Your Highness" Maria spoke in a voice that was barely just a whisper, one that would be difficult to hear if one was much further than the Prince himself. She didn't say anything more than that, but her question was clear. She was asking for permission to deal with the problem in front of them, if she needed to. It may not end in bloodshed, but she would be ready in a heartbeat if it did.

Irina, still wet, tried to at least conceal her irritation.  This was more difficult than it seemed, as the chill water felt like it kept trickling down her back.  She continued to quietly watch as the others took the lead in talking with the stranger.

"No, I'm here to investigate two rumors. One, that the Tomb has been opened by some thieves and graverobbers. Other, that undead started crawling around the mountain. If possible, I'm also to check if any of funerary goods have been moved." He pulled out an old book from inside his robes. "That might take a while, though. The Book of Rest has many pages..."

It is here that Kostya deigns to aid his comrades in negotiations. Not one for unsavoury solutions to problems, and definitely one for being friendly to strangers, the big man strolls forwards among his peers.
"Perhaps we can help you with that, friend. Many eyes and hands better than two, no? Less time for you and I spent in cold damp cave. And if there are undead monsters, is not good idea to fight on your own. Just tell us what to look for."

"What my friend says is true, and I do have some experience with fighting the undead. Surely this is an amenable offer, yes?"

[Haspen]

"Hmm, well... I mean, make sure you don't displace anything."

"Ahem. And if we help you with your task, we keep the orb."

"Unless it is listed on funerary item list."

"You have the book, right? Apparently it's big, orange, with markings..." Dumt flipped the pages of his book, tracing his finger over them.

"Made of brass? Or gold?"

"Er, no I... I don't think it would be made of metal."

"The orbs are more like amber, an orange gem stone my Prince..."

Elana approached the great metal door.

"If it is decided, the day grows long, lead on Mister Isidore."

[Haspen]

Isidore flipped through the pages of his book.

"I don't see anything orb-shaped AND made of amber in the listing of funerary goods-"

"Can we go inside now?"

"Right." Isidore moved toward the door, and Aliberti led others after him. The white-haired mage raised his palm toward the arch above the door. With a creak, the iron doors swung open.

Guttural growls, shuffling of feet and clacking of bones came from inside. Isidore opened his gold-bound tome of magic.

"Well, the second rumor has just been proven true. My job has only just begun!"

Up til now, Anumita had been quietly occupying herself examining the strange writings on the outer tomb wall, rather disinterested in the diplomacy going on nearby. The offhand mention of undead, however, and the subsequent moans and howls that emanated forth once the tomb door opened,  was enough to wrest her attention towards the matter at hand.
"I see this world has some form of necromancy as well. How interesting."

"I can't say I expected to fight undead today."

"I would prefer if someone with more armour than me went through the door first, only so we can build a better formation once we're through."

"Well... doesn't look like we have much in the way of armor, but I'd be happy to join the front here, if you wish."
