So I just got a neromancer migrant.

As soon as he arrived I paused and saved the game.

Looking online this doesn't seem common.
He isn't in disguise and hasn't yet arrived in my meeting hall.
What can I expect?
It's less than one year into my fortress is this game over pretty much?

I only play legends mode

I also play on the longest history setting for hard mode.

It's a bug introduced in 47.01.

He'll raise the dead in self-defence if attacked. Those dead will kill him and all your dorfs along with whatever was threatening him in the first place.

Hopefully he'll go home soon. Best not to grant him residency.

Mine raised some dwarves that died, and they're now zombie haulers that I can't control labors on ("fallen hunters").

My mayor is another one, and has been for 7 years without incident.

But he is restricted to an inner fort burrow, just to keep him away from combat.

So just keep that dorf safe and it should be fine :)
