2 days is far too little time to figure out how to play the game, let alone decide if you like it or not. Try donations a week or two from now. That is (in my opinion) when they will be getting into the game.

Incidently, I bet the wiki is being hit pretty heavily right now too!  :D

The wiki, and the forums.  There have been a few oddball questions popping up recently.

I'm only assuming that they're from the Yahoo influx, of course.

We're a rather cynical community, arent we?

Every jumpshot, every rebound and three-pointer, every layup, dunk and free throw.

Yea.
There is noting wrong whit being cynical after all, briliat peaple tend to be that so it's no wonder we are.

I wonder if that donor might have been me, because I didn't have money at hand so I took a loan from my mum (already paid back, did so the day after), by getting her to donate for me so it might have showed up as her. But I think I did that last time to so her data might already be registered.

I am bending the facts a BIT (but not technically lying) to make me sound more dedicated, so don't worry.  ;)

What is DS?

If it doesn't have a internal hard drive to update and load mods, then dwarf fortress wont be going very far on it.

If it gets released on anything, whatever it gets released on needs to at least have a hard drive.

Also i think Dwarf Fortress is a computer only game. Also, i personally would not have any problem paying 50$ for this game, if he can redo the graphics code so it displays real graphics, rather then text. And really get all the bugs and things out.

This game blows all the other games well out of the water. Id even go as far as saying it was worth 100$, but i don't think your going to find many people to pay that much money hehe.

(Stops giving the game dev ideas now)   ;)

By DS, I assume they're talking about the newest GameBoy.

oh, that duel screen thing?

oh ok lol...

Yeah dwarf fortress ain't running on that anytime soon, maybe a palm computer tho, that would be neat.

It would have to be a stripped down crap version of the game to even come close to running. Maybe not even worth playing  :(

Now i wouldn't mind seeing it for the playstation 3... Or one of those other consoles i don't know the names too hehe...

Dwarf Fortress on the DS! Oh, Yahoo, you slay me. Well, maybe this will (eventually) net Toady some donations!

To be honest, while DF could never run on a handheld like that, I could see a big-shot studio approaching Toady to make a stripped-down, simplified version for kiddies.  Think Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing and Viva Pinata, with the depth of character personality and interaction of DF with some of the world-building mechanics.

Sure, it would be fairly limited in scope, and never approach the quality or depth of the "real" Dwarf Fortress, but if you consider DF as the ultimate proof-of-concept showcase for Toady's skills as a game designer, I'm rather surprised someone hasn't approached him to make a modified, more commercially viable (read: watered-down and kid-friendly) spin-off of DF.

Dwarf Fortress is hardly popular enough to have a publisher buy it. And I doubt it ever will be. Dwarf Fortress is a good game, granted, but it isn't for everybody. It's a niche game. Any talk of publishing is a pipe dream; it ain't gunna happen.

Chill down guys, it's just the typical human nature. It's useless to be angry about it as it won't change anything  :p
