Mirka

Mirka wasn't sure how much damage that punch had done. It felt like it had done... too much, though, and Mirka resorted to trying to push the Major off of her - not an easy task with the shock she was experiencing.

Estela

Estela had by now recovered and, while her subordinate jostled her, the stuns were mounting. "This was a good fight! Nearly had me a couple times there! Wanna call it?" Estela asked - her fist was raised, but she did give Mirka a moment to respond before launching it.

Mirka

Mirka raised her hands in a "stop" motion. "Y-yeah, yeah... you got me." With defeat admitted, she slowly got to her feet.

Monika

"We don't have a choice in the matter. If we're going to win the coming battle, we need to be able to defeat Saro. So we'll find a way, even if it's unlikely" Monika stated, bringing a hand to her chin as she went through the possibilities. Emmery's power was a finnicky thing to understand, but she seemed rather confident about the future course of the battle. Whoever "the lightning/steward" was remained a mystery, but it shouldn't be a problem if they could figure out a way to defeat Saro.

For a brief moment, the memory of her discussion with General Mina flitted through her mind. The best way she could think of taking Saro out was through a swift and decisive surprise attack, but if a direct confrontation was required... Was it worth the risk going out herself?

... Not really. It would have to remain a last resort, at best.

Astarte

"I wouldn't have been able to rise to my position if I was 'ordinary'" Astarte replied, brushing off Teya's cryptic tone, "The coming week is completely open, as far as my official schedule is concerned. A small trip to Perdition would be easy to arrange."

Estela reached down, offering a hand. "Hey, you did great! We should fight again sometime!" Estela said with a grin.

Eilyth

Sneaking back into Katria and finding Tahra was an ordeal on its own, but nothing compared to the ordeal Eilyth would be experiencing in her mind confronting her cruelest sister.

A major battle was to take place in the north, the sort of thing Tahra would never miss. Eilyth and co managed to catch her during her journey. Her unit stopped over in a smaller city along the way, and when Tahra had to take a bathroom break late into the night, that's when Eilyth showed herself.

Tahra shut the bathroom door behind her with a yawn, not immediately noticing Eilyth waiting for her in the hallway. When she did, she froze. The color drained from her face, and she looked about ready to scream. "Ei-Eilyth?" she asked herself more than her sister, "You're dead. How are you here?" she paused, and the nervously added, "...Are you going to haunt me?"

Monika and Kirari

"Neither Arrow nor I can decide for you." Emmery said, "You guide your own Fate, not even another Prince can overcome that."

Cay sighed, "I don't know what Emmery means, but I think you should listen to her, Major. She may be cryptic, but she's also never wrong. However we plan to deal with Saro, you need to be at the center of it."

Meanwhile, Faith handed Kirari a short stack of files. "Previous scuffles with the enemy general, Camilla Rayze. Bosslady says she's strong, but these reports say she leaves a lot of people alive. Not sure why, she would be winning without a superweapon if she tried killing things more."

Astarte

Teya laughed, almost sounding sorry for ignorant Astarte was. She would certainly continue with her haughty attitude going forwards. "You're gonna need to clear more of your schedule, this trip won't be small." she said, "If you want to track down Ambrosia you're going to need a lot more commitment than that."

Astarte

For a few moments, Astarte let Teya laugh, her only reaction be a slight narrowing of her eyes before ultimately speaking, "Yes, I was downplaying the time. If it was that easy to find Ambrosia, then I would've found her already. No, I've already postponed everything until I've located and dealt with them" she explained, glancing to the side, "Point is, I'll have enough time to search. And if I don't, I'll make more."

Monika

“Hm? Oh, I’ve been keeping her words in mind. Can’t say I completely understand everything she says, but if she’s confirming what I’m thinking…” Monika trailed off for a moment, before nodding, “Yeah, this is probably the best way to go about it. We’ll need a way for me to engage Saro without being spotted immediately, but if I can catch her off guard and defeat her before she can fire at me, then I’ll have a good chance at things. Ultimately, speed and precision is going to be our ally here. The only question now is actually getting close enough…”

Kirari

Right. General Camilla. She hadn't interacted with the woman as much as Monika, but she still had a generally favorable impression. "Ideally, we will find a way to do the same." Recent experiences had soured her on the idea of killing Neridan soldiers in excess. In particular, a few under the command of this specific officer. "Killing more Neridans will just lead them to sending unfamiliar new meisters instead of the foes we know," she continued, justifying herself, "and all we have to do is not lose."

Eilyth
It's show time bitch. Let's see if you get to keep living or not.

"Haunt you? Waste my valuable time on earth as vengeful spirit haunting you?" She met the question with a snickering, fanged smile plastered from ear to ear that glistening in the low light. "Bitch please."
A glint of barely restrained violence shined in her slit eyes as they sized up the woman before them. Far more concerning, however, were the tentacles. Two writhing, unholy masses sprouting from either shoulder, long, powerful, and black as the abyssal depths where not even the light of Kallisto dared trespass. She slowly advanced from the dark, eyes peeled on Tahra's reaction. Even the slightest hint of reaching for a gun or other weapon and she'd snap that offending arm like a man's neck beneath her boots. They may have all gotten stays of execution thanks to Brigitte, but Brigitte was gone now, and by god she was going to make the one responsible pay. Even if it meant reneging on that decision.
"Like I'd let you off that easy." She chuckled mirthlessly. "No, fuck that. I'd drag your sorry ass down to hell with me and be done with it. Unfortunately, well... fortunately for you I guess, that ain't what I'm here for. Not if you keep this civil and don't do anything crazy like call for help. I got a few friends waiting nearby, and I'd really like to not turn this whole base into a bloodbath. I'm short time, and patience. So I'll give you the TLDR version of events:
Turns out the goddesses are real, who fuckin' knew eh? As you can see, I ain't human anymore either. Decided to become Allia's pet. Don't ask. Also turns out that the goddess Katrina is a massive bitch who prefers the name Kallisto and wants to undo the world in order to make up for some stupid shit she did Eons ago. I'm not sure on the motivation, and I don't really care, I just know that the bitch is the reason the only sister I ever cared about is now dead. And that she's too damn powerful for me to just walk up and tear her apart like I want to. Tried already, that monster beat us in a six on one, the cheating bitch..."

She punctuated the insult with a little snarl that was, surprisingly, not aimed at Tahra. It was not long before a gentle tug around her neck reminded Allia's unruly Hydra to stay focused.

"Anyway, that brings us to why I'm here. I talked to God. The real God. The world. It's fucking complicated, okay? And I learned how to beat the bitch, save the world, yada yada... all that idealistic bullshit. But in order to do it, I need to replace her. Wipe her existence clean off the slate of history and start fresh with someone just vaguely similar enough to her to fit the Kallisto shaped hole left in our cosmology. Guess what buttercup? The tendencies you've shown me my entire life make you the perfect candidate. How's it feel to be offered the job of replacing a goddess of misery and suffering?"

Mirka

Mirka nodded, accepting the hand as she stood back up. As she did so, she looked to the crowd to gauge their reaction. Mirka wasn't in the business of fighting in a flashy way - while Estela may have enjoyed the fight, Mirka wasn't sure if the others did.

Mirka and Estela

While the unit bustled about in excitement from the fight, Iona walked over to Mirka and Estela with a slight frown on her face. "You two have fun?" she asked blithely.

Ever the killjoy, Iona gestured towards the other unit camped nearby, already halfway through moving out. There was a clear annoyance to everything she did, making it clear she was still upset that her advice to rest instead of having a show match had gone ignored.

Eilyth

Had Tahra her Dolores, a fight surely would have broken out then and there. Despite her calm smile, there was a clear rage in her eyes as she realized she was helpless. The sister she had tormented for so long had finally broken under the pressure, and now Tahra had to face the consequences of what she had helped create. The truth was that Eilyth had lost her humanity long ago, stripped away by the cruelty of the monsters around her. She hadn't needed to become a Knight, her life itself was all the catalyst she needed. Allia hadn't created the Dragon of Katria, Eilyth's own sisters had made that a reality on their own.

Rage gave way to fear again as Tahra realized the truth of her predicament. The monster was offering her a chance at the cruelest redemption, but what if she refused? The answer to that was obvious. Death. Death was all that faced her if she refused. The Dragon's wrath was inescapable now.

Fear faded to defiance as a spiteful glee overtook her. She would not play along. If death was her fate, so be it. Eilyth might outlive her, but she would have to live with failure. Tahra didn't have a choice, but she didn't need one. She could still make Eilyth suffer with her mere refusal.

"No." Tahra said smugly, "No I don't think I'll play you-"

A knife materialized in Tahra's forehead, a burst of shadow energy discharging itself directly into her cranium and sending a burst of unimaginable fear through her in the split second between the knife piercing her skin and her death. Shock and terror contorted her entire face as she crumpled backwards. There was no smug satisfaction left when she hit the ground. Only the fear of someone who thought they could never lose.

Behind Eilyth, Patty spoke with blunt anger, "Your family fucking sucks."

Monika

Cay nodded thoughtfully. "I agree, that does seem to be the best approach." she grabbed a map and pointed to a location on the edge of the upcoming battlefield, "Perhaps we can lure her here? There's a lot of forest cover you could use. Faith's tank should be immune to Saro's attacks, so we can use her as bait. A forward thrust should draw their attention, although with only Faith we may not draw enough to attract Saro. Someone will need to go with her, and they'll need to be ready to die."

Kirari

"Oh, that makes sense. She can keep winning over and over if she fights the same people a lot." Faith accepted Kirari's reasoning without hesitation, "You're pretty smart Miss Spookums."

She shuffled around a few more files and handed Kirari a single sheet. It was a short list of priority targets for the Wrath of God to focus on.

"Here's what the big leaders want us to do. Saro Ven is the big one. We gotta go for the general herself if we get a chance, but that ain't gonna happen. There's a few other key meisters, normal war stuff, they're all boring 'cept the burn lady. And the whole army's supposed to try to kill the big balloons, not that anyone knows how."

Eilyth

Refusal. Not unexpected, not in the least. Truth be told Eilyth was glad. The last thing she'd wanted was to be stuck escorting a fucking psychopath the rest of the way to stone ocean, constantly having to be on guard in case the bitch decided to slit everyone's throats as they slept. But the joke truly was on Tahra. She probably assumed that she was the first, and the only, option Eilyth had. Oh no. No no no no no. There were plenty of scum like her in the world, she just happened to be the one who had immediately sprung to mind.
And if the fucker wouldn't comply, then she was useless to her. Eilyth had no reason to stay her hand any longer. Perhaps had she simply screamed and run away, she would've been content to let the little monster persist a while longer. Bigger fish to fry and all that. But as she had stood there, looking at that smug, shit eating grin on Tahra's ugly little mug... something inside just went and snapped.

There was a flash a bronze light, the sound of a sharp edge cutting air.

But before Eilyth's now stone-clad tentacle could make the first slice into her, Tahra was already on the floor dead. She stood there, just taking it in. And finally she sighed in disappointment. Far too quick and too clean. But Patty had probably done her a favor in the end, there's no telling how loud that mauling would've gotten, and how many poor sods would've come out to investigate the commotion. Candidate in hand or no, they still needed to maintain a low profile.

But something else bothered her. Something familiar.

"Yup, they do." She said, folding her tentacles back beneath her jacket, "Ya know, it's almost funny. I thought I'd be happy to see some Karma finally come their way. But first Brienne and now Tahra, the two biggest offenders... and I don't feel much more than I would over a fucking ant. Like... I should at least be fucking pissed right now one way or another. Like I should've been when Leah took out Brienne but... nothing. Can't help but wonder if they ever really mattered to begin with. Or... maybe I was just wrong about what I thought I wanted."

She let that thought linger in the air for a moment or two before finally turning around. "Hey, Patt? There's something I've been wondering for a while. What is it you actually see in me?"

Kirari

Rather than attempting to wrap her head around how to respond to being called "Miss Spookums" as an apparently regular form of address, the murderess instead moved onto the information presented. Faith had mentioned a 'burn lady,' and she knew of a Neridan meister that could meet that description. A dull sort of dread rose in her stomach as she skimmed through the list. Saro Ven, Eudokia Alabaster. . . and Verna Hembrite. A dilemma she had been hoping to never encounter. This occasion was once again one in which she was thankful her stilted feelings rarely translated to her face in a way that anyone could read properly. "I have prior knowledge of a few of these. If she's encountered, please leave Specialist Hembrite to me. We'll need plans to deal with the rest, though. I don't suppose there is any more detail on these?"

Estela, being Estela, just gave her a jaunty grin. "Sure did. Bet it got the troops pumped, too." she said, before looking over to the others getting on the move. "Finally getting a move on, huh?"

Eilyth

"What I see in you?" Patricia tilted her head quizzically, "Is there something I'm supposed to see? Besides your figure, I mean. You're pretty fucking normal. Breath of fresh air with all the crazy bitches we seem to run into daily, if I'm honest. I guess in a way that's something on its own. I haven't been through half of what you have and I'm barely holding onto normal, the fact that you do it so effortlessly is kind of admirable."

The sheer irony of calling an inhuman, tentacled dragon knight normal seemed lost on Patrica. Without a second thought, she nonchalantly removed her knife from Tahra's freshly-comeuppanced corpse and turned to leave.

She paused before continuing down the hall. "Hey do you... need a moment?" she asked, gesturing to the corpse, "I know you wanted to tear her throat out with your teeth, but family's complicated. Feelings even moreso. Might do you some good to pay your disrespects."

Kirari

Faith shrugged at Kirari's request, "No argument here. Might want to check with Bosslady and Hot Stuff, Bosslady doesn't like when people go off alone." Faith's tone suggested she knew this from experience. "If you wanna know more you'll have to dig. No profiles, just names and reports. The ones on Burn Lady are all from you though..." Faith gave Kirari a curious look but didn't press the matter.

Mirka and Estela

Iona rolled her eyes and gestured to the tents behind the still-riled soldiers. "Just get packing." she said, sounding summarily defeated.

Yava

Siren nodded thoughtfully. "Someone else like me narrows it down a lot." she said, sounding less-than-confident, "Do you know anything about what this enemy looks like? Hair color, height, favorite shirt?"
