What causes economic links?
« on: June 04, 2020, 07:09:36 pm »

A random dark pit to the west of my fort just economically linked to me, I literally started the fort only a month (in game) ago? What causes this?

The scouts have been fighting a giant capuchin for the past month now. They still haven't killed it.

Obsidian 1053

The Sentries are still fighting the capuchin. For two monthes they have done nothing but punch this monkey.

The game links sites together for various simulation reasons many of which have nothing to do with gameplay (yet). Sites which bandits might target for harrasment, sites in which black market trading might take place and so on.

When the announcement was added to the game, there were no alterations to the simulation, so all of the non-player related background stuff triggers the same message.

Wealth triggers the connections generally. A trade depot is usually enough to a trigger a connection to a poor site (a cave or an isolated Dark Pits for example).
