Expedite Scans For Turn 1 Only?

Yes, that should help things keep moving.

Yes, but only because I like supercharging things.

I enjoy voting but hate being identified in terms of yes/no dualities.

No, that would ruin my meticulously planned framework of decision trees.

No, I think that this is a veiled attempt at turn 0 TPK in which the space station blows up.

MESSAGE FROM CORPORATE

Custodians of Planetary Entity 800-T5724P,

Your continued interest in this tax-deductible conservationist effort to grow small business is appreciated. For the next twenty-four hours, all MeatierRight brand meatballs will be buy-one-get-one-free in order to celebrate your dedication to traditional monetary values, quality consumer products, and making the right choice: the MeatierRight choice.

SiegCorp is here with you, ready to give YOU the tools to succeed in giving your personal touch to {Bad_Reference: Planetary_Entity_Name?Friendly_Name!Drop} and right now that means getting things underway as quickly as possible! However, we here at SiegCorp also understand you might be a bit tuckered out and under the potentially non-beneficial effects of what we are not legally allowed to describe as psycho-synaptic scarring as a result of your traversal of the HGMT network, and thus might want to take it easy.

To help you get started, we're willing to tell those rascally greasy monkeys to put crank the supercharger up on the phased array scanner and really let loose for you! This will allow you to rapidly scan the surface of Planetary Entity 800-T5724P with only a slight chance to mutate the local wildlife with the array pulse.

While we're absolutely behind this, just like our subsidiary DerriaDerm has absolutely been behind the finest celebrity behinds for the last two hundred years, we put the decision on whether to overcharge the scanners up to you, our committed custodians.

((Short version: For the first turn, would you like the use of the scans to NOT take up a fiscal quarter?))

A. I like respecting the laws of nature and do not wish to expedite things and have fun screaming 'DIVERT POWER FROM LIFE SUPPORT' while joyfully watching valuable research data collate.
B. I have a sense of fun and self-respect, and will agree to the moral responsibility of overcharging the scanner so that planetary development can begin quickly.

Wait wait wait

Are you telling me that FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY, scans not only complete instantly but further mutate the hideous wildlife we were hoping to collect?

Because I have a jungle settlement to get started immediately if that's the case!

Quote from: 'Prosperity Landing' Joint Venture
The undersigned companies agree to pool their resources for the purpose of founding the settlement of Prosperity Landing on Bootstrap.

The settlement ownership shall be divided in 100 shares and each company will acquire 20 of those, contributing 3 credits to the effort. The money is to be used in such a way: 3 credits for labrador scans on a promising area, 10 credits for the settlement itself. The remaining 2 credits are invested directly into the joint fund of the settlement to be disbursed by vote of the shareholders as below. Earnings are deposited into the joint fund for disbursal by vote.

Information, assets, or territory acquired by means funded through this venture is private property of the share (and visible to all shareholders) unless the shareholders vote in favor of releasing it. The information from our first scans, of locations 078:028, 083:027, and 088:028, will be released immediately.

Decisions regarding the settlement and its assets will be taken with a majority vote of 60% of the shares.

I had an idea, but we could also just all dogpile onto a good shared starting colony with eight shareholders. I'm down for that too.

Quote from: Padlock Island Joint Venture (Discontinued due to lack of interest)
The undersigned companies agree to place a deep scan and a colony at 024.037 (island to the west of the westernmost continent), regardless of the former's results. This is expected to produce immediately accessible subterranean resources and peril, as well as a lovely view of the surrounding coastal jungles.

Each credit contributed to the initial founding provides 1 Share out of 12 Shares total. Shares are proportionate measures of voting power and resource allotment. All decisions about colony activity may be made with a simple majority vote. Until voted otherwise, the colony will accrue resources until it has 12 of them, then distribute one to each Share. Further decisions about commerce and labor allocation must be handled via vote.

"Scanner" Scanlon's Non-Scam Scans establishes itself, and would like to begin the process of exploring the riches of this planet, knowing that it no doubt has quite a lot of them. Rather than fully invest in settlements, "Scanner" Scanlon's Non-Scam Scans will operate through a scan-heavy model, scanning for resource-rich areas on the planet and offering information on them for a mere small portion of the labor of settlements in these areas. However, understanding that capital is scarce in these exciting but harsh new times, it will at this moment earmark a portion its capital for a more traditional settlement endeavor as well.

Accordingly, "Scanner" Scanlon's Non-Scam Scans will LabradorScan the regions of 096.058 and 104.006 using 2 Credits, offering information on which is richer and an additional credit in exchange for a 25% stake into whatever settlement follows in these areas. Obviously enough, this isn't all that revolutionary as it does follow the model of the Prosperity Landings venture, but there does need to be a basic capital base here.

The contract is written only for five players, however. We're not taking a sixth player at present since we don't want to over-concentrate resources.
