Fist of Bardumadil

In creating a new adventurer, one of the available races is "Fist of Bardumadil". Legends shows elves and humans turning into Fists of Bardumadil. Is this a monastic order, or some sort of disease?

The result of experiments performed by necromancers or possibly redacted. They sometimes escape their masters and join civilizations.

Ah man. I kinda expected a story about a lone warrior going from town to town, exploding the heads of bandits and monsters with one punch.
