How the hell do I get my dwarves to pick up bolts? I got a soldier and I've assigned 30 iron bolts for his squad in the "m-f" menu but he doesn't pick them up. If I activate him and order him to go kill a wild goat he goes in and tries to bash instead of picking the bolts.

Orkel - I had the same problem.  Does he have a quiver?  I'm still not sure how I solved it but I think that was part of it 


On another note, I'm only a month into my first fortress and I'm loving it!  Only one or two game-spoiling bugs so far.  I like all the new butchering products...horns, hooves, nervous tissue...what I do with that, I have NO idea...
