So I embarked on top of a dragon...

Or more aptly, under a dragon. I unknowingly embarked on a cave site and the dragon who lived there was honest to god standing right on top of the wagon as soon as the game started. Of all the luck huh? My lone sword dwarf was able to reach his equipment but it didn't help much. Total unpaused game time couldn't have been more than 5-10 seconds. Easily my worst embark ever, and far worse than that time i embarked in an evil biome which constantly rained Acrid Mucus that dissolved every living thing it touched.

Losing is fun.

yes you can embark on most adventure mode sites that do not block you off like towns and fortresses.
that way you can also get things that are normally inaccessible in dwarf mode, like night creatures and divine metal.
