"I mean. . . I guess. I don't know. I'm not good with people. They don't like it when you go off about proper heating and quenching techniques, or when you, you know, burn half the room and pass out because you got mad at your homework or something." Lin gave a frustrated sigh. "Sorry. Forget I said anything about it."

"That's good, the professor being informed. In any case, we're informed now. Keep us aware of any new development we should know about. Is there anything we can do for you two right now about that matter?"

"It's fine, really. I...well...I don't get it, but I understand."

"....yeah. Remember the part where we asked you to escort us into town?"

Kruger takes a deep breath.

"I understand. Any special preparation required, Vice-President?"

Alicia then leads the way to an empty classroom. It's not exactly any specific classroom, probably just one emptied out for club activities.
"Thankssomuchforagreeingtohelp. IfinditreallyhardtospeakinpublicandIreallyneedallthehelpIcanget. Areyouready?"
Mus'ad nods, giving the squirrel girl a smile.
"Yes, and just remember, we're all your friends so just keep calm and speak slowly and clearly, okay?"

Lin's mouth worked silently for several moments, twisting and flattening and twisting again as she deliberated on what to say.

"I guess I'm just trying to say I'm glad you're hanging out with me." She felt a tad embarrassed, but continued on without quite being able to stop herself. "Vicky leaving feels really bad and I've, um, been kinda lonely." Sieglinde looked down. "I'm making it weird. Forget I said that too. I really need to eat."

"It's fine. Dinner's on me."

"Alright. If you guys are ready, shall we go? I think Himiko's just about done packing up."

"Let's go. I may not... really have any romantic experience whatsoever, but... I want to help you both. I want to help Himiko." Arnett was definitely not the most confident, but he sounded determined enough.

"Okay." The belgor fell silent after that, not wanting to dig herself any deeper and electing to suffer the awkward quiet instead. Lin resisted the urge to thank Kaya again, given the response she'd received last time, and just continued her slow walk to the cafeteria.

Alicia nods. She closes her eyes, breathing in deeply, before beginning to speak.
"Heregoesnothing."
"Higuysmyname'sAliciaandtodayIwillbegivingyouademonstrationonfiresafety. It'sarealhazardnowadaysespecially-nopecan'tdoit."

She immediately turns away from Mus'ad and starts breathing very rapidly into a paper bag.

Oh boy.

The trip into the city -taken by city bus, of course- is rather unventful, as it primarily consists of you, well, sitting on a bus for about ten minutes while the bus drives to the nearest stop in the city.

That would, of course, be inaccurate. While Solrise Academy holds a large estate of green land, it still technically lies not far out of the city center, specifically the district of Tottersea, within walking distance of the governmental district of Ginby, where the country's halls of parliament are located, along with the nearby Barminster Palace, winter home to the Yorkian royal family. As such, you are not quite far from the middle of the city, with all of its amenities.

Upon getting off at the first stop, the city of Barminster is pretty bustling for late afternoon. An important-looking Avis woman exits one of the phone booths nearby, swaddled in furs. You are surrounded by the city's tall buildings, only visible from the edge of the Solrise estate, with shop fronts bustling with merchandise and a line of posters outside the local cinema showing off all the newest films, from Casarbayda to some film with a title in Frankish, perhaps one of those 'artsy' films the critics preferred to the supposed 'dreck' that comes from the famed Mistlegrove film-making district in western Vespalla.

"We'll just go inside the cinema and check that the tickets are still valid and then we'll see you guys off. Don't worry about the return trip; we'll call Jack and Kaede."

Himiko and Joel make their way inside the theatre, leaving the three of you outside the cinema.

You are suddenly well aware of someone's eyes on you. In a city like this, of course, they could be coming from anywhere, but the nearby alleyway is looking rather suspicious.

Rika was a no-nonsense Bova and she immediately marched toward the alleyway.

"If someone's in there watching us, y'all better come on out."

Mus'ad watches the... "speech" such as it is before giving the girl a look of concern as she starts breathing into a paper bag. This... is going to take a while. Still, he did promise to help and so he would do so to the best of his abilities. He waits for Alicia to calm down some before he finally speaks.
"Well, I see why you wanted help now. Hm... Can you walk me through what lead you to panic? Like, what was your train of thought that lead you there."

Arnett's hairs stood on end, and he immediately hid behind Rika as a scared child might hide behind their mother when being introduced to a new class. However, he does clutch his paintbrush and look at the alleyway from behind her in case he needed to try out his new technique...
