Trence > Fight > Slash! > Goblin Mage
Willis > Fight > Rapid Fire! > Group A
Trence uses Slash! on the Goblin Mage!
It goes down instantly!
Willis uses Rapid Fire on group A!
Three goblins are defeated!
Sessha steps forward and backstabs the Goblin Wolf Rider!
It is defeated!
One goblin attacks Willis!
Two goblins attack Sessha!
Willis takes 1 damage from the spear goblin.
Sessha takes 2 damage from the spear goblins.
...
The three of you clean up the last goblins, Willis by shooting the wounded one, yourself by power slashing one of the stronger ones, and Sessha taking the remaining one with a single dagger throw.
Victory! You collect a bone totem, a wolf skin, and nothing from the plain goblins. Sessha says they aren't worth much, just a bit for the wolfskin.
The rest of the trip is, perhaps unfortunately, uneventful. There is a few more nights of staying in inns, and a few more days of walking through the forest road. You run into something new with about a day to go.. a squadron of mounted guards, with some kind of wolf insignia on their uniforms. They tell you that the road is clear from here on in, and so it is. They explain that these are the troops of the duke of the North, and there's some complicated political jabber that you don't really care about.
Tressington itself is, according to your accomplished eyes as someone who has visited THREE whole cities, Medium Sized! There's still lots of people in the city, but not quite as many, and the houses are different, with more angled roofs and slightly wider roads.
Since you don't have a house, the four of you get to stay in what she calls a real "Adventuring Inn". There's lots of strange characters around here, but this time you know enough not to talk to people. There's a person who gives Sessha money when she tells them about the goblins, and the two of you are asked some questions about what you're doing here and if you're going to be some kind of formal organization.
Sessha thinks for a bit, and says yes, and then there's some more negotiation while you look around the rest of the room. Lots of people, pretty much all of them have weapons, and at least some have magic. There's a guy in a blue hooded robe with a funny-looking bent sword. There's a kid in a leather overcoat and a funny hat, who has a pet slime. There's a tall guy wearing red pants with yellow hair who has a long blue crystal spear. And some kind of guy wearing full armour with a feather in his helmet who uses a thin fencing sword. And a lot of others.
Sessha finshes up, and the four of you head upstairs where there's a bunch of large rooms with tables and chairs and several beds. It's time to rest up.
Uncle then heads off the next day to talk to the people who are relatives of the old adventurer, and will try to get permission to look them over. He warns you that it's likely to take several hours, but he should be back by dinnertime.
Dinner comes and goes, and no Uncle. Late in the evening, a messenger comes to you, and says that Uncle is their hostage, and the three of you need to come to this mansion to talk about getting him back. Sessha is FURIOUS. She goes on a rant about untrustworthy aristocrats, and she's using some words you aren't supposed to know about. Still, she eventually calms down and the three of you have to make a decision on what to do.
Sessha has a couple plans, but which one do you like?
Go in and talk first. Maybe you can make a deal.
Go in and steal Uncle back.
Take a hostage of your own, then negotiate.
Something else.
