Hi all,

Pretty much the thread title. I want to try and delineate watersheds (rain catchment areas) in dwarf fortress, and I thought having the names of the rivers in question would add flavour.

So my question is: are rivers in dwarf fortress named? And how can I view their names if they do indeed have names?

Thanks from your pal Zippy.

Export legends data. Load the data in Legends Viewer. Go to the Geography tab, and under that there's a Rivers tab with all the names.

Also, if you look at the world map in Legends Viewer, there's an option to load alternate maps. One of those alternate maps shows all the rivers, while another shows rainfall patterns. There may be other alternate maps about water; I haven't studied them all.

The pre embark info also shows the name of the river crossing through the embark rectangle.
