Is Dragonbreath Blocked Automatically With Shields?

Does having a shield in a hand for itself completely block it? Can you block it while stunned or even paralyzed? Does this make dragonbreath completely harmless? Does dragonbreath drain shield's durability?

Does anybody know how to become an elephant man in adventure mode? I literally did all advanced world settings possible to increase chances.

Yes, though I think there's a chance to fail based on shield skill. IIRC, shoving a bunch of shields in one hand is even more effective.
No. Manually blocking also leaves the shield unavailable to block dragonfire.
If you're standing on grass or items, those can catch fire and harm you.
No. Not even if the shield is wooden.
