Minecart ramp problems
« on: September 20, 2020, 08:11:09 am »

I am trying to set up a track to carry wood down to my fortress. However, the game doesn't seem to be able to find a path on the track. I have tried pushing the cart down, and it works fine.

The wiki says that the ramps must have a wall "behind" them for the tracks to work, and this appears to be the problem. Can someone explain what that means?

Quite simply, there needs to be a solid wall in the tile to which the ramp "leads" (on the ramp's level, that is, below the floor tile you would occupy after going up the ramp), and the tracks must be designated correctly according to the procedure in the wiki. Is there anything more specific you have questions about?

Ramps are hard to learn, but they're very useful once you master them. A functioning ramp needs four tiles:
