A Slime's Life
« on: October 06, 2020, 10:06:23 pm »

Preface:
I know I have a bad track record on running games, but I am committing to twice-three times a week on this one. Tuesdays and Thursday, and if I have availability on the weekends. Votes/actions will end at 5:30PM PST on Tuesdays and Thursdays, if I am able to update on the weekends I will give a 10-12 hour warning. If you haven't posted your action(s)(if this goes multiplayer) then you will idle(unless you inform me that you will be posting late or have 'programmed actions').

Now on to the Intro:
The Bay of Slime, that is what the rest of the world calls your home. There are thousands, if not millions of slimes in the bay area. Occasionally slime leave or mortals enter and when this happens they are never seen or heard from again. There are many skirmishes on the boarder, mostly to keep the slimes in the bay, but the boarder has gotten quite in the last few years and your kind have seen fit to send an explorer to see why. Or maybe you just felt like leaving, only you can tell.

Speaking of how did you leave?
In a group(multiplayer)
Or by your self(SG)

Either way make a character:
Code: (character template:) [Select]
Designation:
Size:(start at 10cm3)
Growth:(0.01 for every 10cm3(modified by stats))
Stats(start with 5 to distribute; 1 per 2cm3):
-Corrosiveness: (how acidic you are; used to fight(+3/1), passive growth(+0.01/1), and craft/manipulate precise items)
-Stickiness: (how well you stick to surfaces; used to be allowed to do certain things(max is 20))
-Elasticity: (how stretchy you can be; used to give health(+4/1), fight(+2/1), and craft/manipulate more items)
-Rigidity: (how solid you can be; used to give health(+3/1), fight(+1.5/1), and craft/manipulate better items)
Essence:(start at 0.1)(maxes at size/10) +0.1 passive
Health: (size/5( modified by rigidity and elasticity)
Fight Power: (size/10(modified by rigidity and elasticity)

Notes:

Also chose a turn format:
A. Turns take as long as they need(subjective)
B. Turns are a set amount of time(objective)

Chose a map format:
1. none(simple and easy, I describe the area your in as best I can)
2. simple(ASCII, just like the game we all know and love started with)
3. advanced(I will be using a map program to draw out the maps, updates will take longer)Ya no this will just give me an excuse to not update

Vote on the starting region:
Swamp: back up is just a turn away for the first few turns
forest: lots of hiding spots for potential enemies
plains: no advantages or disadvantages
hills:tricky to maneuver in, may or may not be passable in some areas

- I left in a group, or not at all. I will not share a character with anyone.
- Turn format preference is whichever one is more frequent, my guess is B.
- My map format preference is none.
- My region preference is plains.

Forgot to mention that Designation is what you are called to other slimes, aka name.

Health is correct and so is growth. I will make it a bit more clear.

- I could be up for some slime multiplayer
Is this one of those multiplayers where we each do our own thing, or is it more like dungeon-delving surface-strolling RPG party?
- An objective time interval will probably help keep things organized
- No strong map preference
- My character would pick hills, but would rather stick with a buddy than split over it

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

Ok Multiplayer is locked in as is turn format(objective).

Map is still up in the air(though leaning ASCII) as is terrain start(for simplicity everyone starts in the same location, but can move on from there).

- I could be up for some slime multiplayer
Is this one of those multiplayers where we each do our own thing, or is it more like dungeon-delving surface-strolling RPG party?
It is up to you the players to decide if you want to stick together or separate. I will not force the issue.

(Fight power: 5.5?)
It would be 1 more because of your size. In fact I will add that to the sheet.

Voting is still up and will not be locked until Thursday at 5:30 PST, new applicants will always be accepted you just might not be able to do an action until the next time.

The map was tied so the dice decided on no map. The location was a 3 way tie so the dice decided on swamp start.

Turn 1:
- I left in a group, or not at all. I will not share a character with anyone.
- Turn format preference is whichever one is more frequent, my guess is B.
- My map format preference is none.
- My region preference is plains.

You all begin your journey in the swamp on the boarder. There is water and trees everywhere. there is also a lot of slimes. There are about 2 slimes you are in front of and one of them, an elder begins to speak to you:
"You have essence, use it to make something or manipulate something if you need to. You will get an influx of essence when you kill an enemy or creature. Items you make or manipulate with your essence will need essence to maintain it, the maintenance cost is 20% of the original cost. Your passive gain will not increase with your stats or size so you will have to kill enemies and creatures to maintain your creations later on. Essence that overflows your max stops passive gains and decreases at a rate of 0.5*amount over.

Your combat power determines how much you hit for. Your elasticity determines when you hit.

Pay attention to your health, if you hit 0 you 'die'(see spoiler below). Your health will regain at 10% a turn other ways to regain your health you will have to explore.

Remember the bigger you are the more you can take hit an give hits. On that note you gain growth post battle at a rate of 0.1 for each cubic meter of enemy ‘eaten’.

Since you are starting here in the swamps reinforcement will be a turn away intil you are more then 10 turns from the swamp. We can only keep the supply lines following you for so long. Any questions?"

Spoiler: when you die: (click to show/hide)

I will answer any and all questions I can. By the way 1 turn is equivalent to 1 day in game(combat turns are measured in minutes).

Plort asks "What do you recommend that we do now?"
"Scout, grow, craft, fight, and anything else you can think of. There is, or was, a human settlement 2 turns to the south. Remember the Bay/Ocean is to the East."
