Yeah, but if it's still not going to be enough, we should wait before taking loans, not have debts that aren't doing anything.

Wait, I have a plan: I take out a loan for 2 florins, and so does someone else. Happy Crab goes bankrupt the next turn. Then, we keep the money. Then we each have 6 florins, against which we can borrow another florin each and buy a ship and trinkets with living expenses to spare.

Otherwise we can go on with the turn though.

You realize 2 florins is the MAX I'm offering, right?

Well yeah, that's why it would take two separate loans from two separate people. Of course, it requires your signature anyway, so it's a moot point. If you had offered the contract with the signature pre-printed though I was going to be pretty tempted to see if a1s would let us pull that sort of BS.

Turn 4
TURNTURNTURN

Learned men study the Neartsouthlands sand to discover some of it's uses. Some try to make concrete (unfortunately there is no source of good limestone on the island,) others try to make sandpaper. The most potential is in making glass, however. Glassblowing workshop invented.

List of currently available enterprises:
All enterprises cost 10 Florins to set up and 1 Florin/turn to run.
  • Shipyard: Use 10 lumber to produce a ship
  • Lumber yard: Use public trees (currently free) to produce 5 Lumber
  • Woodcarver Workshop: Use 1 lumber to produce 10 trinkets
  • Glassblower Workshop: Use 1 sand to produce 12 trinkets

Market
  • Lumber: 5 Groschen / Unit
  • Trinkets: 2 Groschen 1 pfennig / Unit
  • Sand: 5 Groschen 5 pfennigs / Unit
  • Ships (while supplies last): 10 Florins / Ship

Publicly Known Destinations
  • Home (Lumber): you are here
  • Nearsouthlands (Sand): 2 months travel

Current Voyages
  • Verkenning Geest - set sail on a voyage of exploration on Turn 2.
  • Schrullige Tintenfische set sail for Nearsouthlands on turn 3

Just updating my sheet. After another delivery, we should each hopefully have enough to contribute to a new enterprise and thus bring in the other Players.

I'm down to 3 Florins, 8 Groschen, and a small empty warehouse.

Unemployment has its perks. I take long walks on the beach (even though our sand is rubbish). Maybe we should start filling our beaches with beautiful Nearsouthlands sand.

My calculations agree with yours. I wonder if we have a different understanding of the rules.

Turn 5
TURNTURNTURN

Schrullige Tintenfische returns again with sand. It is sold according to the agreement and the ship loaded up with trinkets.

A petition is going around to beautify the beaches of our homeland with imported sand. It is on course to be ignored by the Doge.

  • Trinkets: 2 Groschen 1 pfennig / Unit
  • Sand: 5 Groschen 5 pfennigs / Unit
  • Ships (while supplies last): 10 Florins / Ship

Ships in port

If no one wants a loan, I'm willing to put up 3.5 to buy a ship, then.

There should be plenty of loose change between us four and the three other starters to buy another ship/enterprise.
