Spoiler: Turn 16 Math (click to show/hide)

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth from its accountants, Rijke Reizen Enterprises has given in to modernist pressures and now uses the ₣ notation for easier calculation.

I also vote to send the Jolly Crustacean to Aloysius Shores.

Additionally, if this deal is still a thing, I'd like to get in on it. Just 20% more to go, let's get a third ship up and running!

Quote from: Purchase of the merchant ship: 'Tailwind'
We, the undersigned, agree to purchase the ship, Tailwind, at 1.24 florins per 10% share (0.62 florins for 5%). Tailwind shall sail to Aloysius Shores for bananas. On delivery, the bananas will be sold, the money used to pay for trinkets and repairs before the profits are distributed to the shareholders according to their shares. In the event that the repair costs exceed profits made, shareholders will be obliged to pay to repair the ship according to their shares unless a vote changes this. A 75% majority is required to pass any vote for the Tailwind.

-Dreichin Industries (4.96 Florins for 40%)
-Douchound Inc. (3.72 Florins for 30%)
-Rijke Reizen Enterprises (1.24 Florins for 10%)

I am indeed, still onboard for Tailwind at the stated amount in the contract on Cnidaros' post. Will need a confirmation from Douchbound plus 1 or more investors to finish up the last 20%

Stürn und Tochter

Pay 4 Groschen, 5 Pfennigs to Happy Crab LLC in exchange for a 5% share in Dochen Holz. We will also buy the final shares in the Tailwind, and agree to send the Jolly Crustacean to Aloysius Shores.

Jolly Crustacean- sells 10 sand for ₣0.55 and buys 10 trinkets for ₣0.24. Profit is ₣3.10, my 25% share is ₣0.775.

Dochen Holz- sells 5 lumber at ₣0.40, for ₣2.00 income, ₣1.00 after upkeep. My 30% is ₣0.30.

After ₣0.10 living expenses, I gain ₣0.975.

Dang, I was hoping to get in in the Tailwind.
Are there any other enterprises looking for funds?

Also, a1s, would it be possible to negotiate a consignment with those glassmakers to reduce the initial startup cost on a ship?

I'm conserving my cash for when we get a new port.  I'll wanna buy a ship then.

That’s a solid idea, but that’s also going to be about 4 months. I’d like to get something to at least cover living expenses until then.

Consider, a ship hauling sand would be likely able to make 2 runs (assuming the explorer takes at least 4 months to return) and then be able to wait at port until the new port is available.

Consider, it takes 4 or 5 runs to get a return on your investment, hauling sand.

Douchound Inc. donates 3 Groschen to Adalwolf Forscher.
You skipped where I also donated money to the expedition.
Fixed.

Question: Is it possible to put an enterprise on hold, so it stops producing but also doesn't cost upkeep? Is it also possible to abandon a enterprise entirely, in the event that noone wants to buy the shares and all the shareholders just want rid of it (in the case of it not making profit, for example).

I don't see why you would, but I'll allow it. If shareholders all agree of course.
