How to generate Pangea-like worlds?
« on: November 29, 2020, 04:59:15 pm »

Are there some parameters that generate worlds that are a large predominant continent?

This would be for the largest world size available, as when I generate world of such size they moslty come up "broken"

Im not sure about parameters, but if no one else has any ideas, you could always use Perfect World to design one.

Advanced worldgen. Large Region (default setting).
Usually works OK.

In advanced worldgen I try to set the elevation to not have 1 on the lowest setting;
this prevents the worldgen from prioritizing that;

I've been experimenting with this a bit lately, trying to get one large island by tweaking some parameters. The default parameters tend to give you something like an archipelago with multiple smaller islands instead.

I started with the default medium island parameter set. I am trying to remember what exactly I changed, but I think it was:
  • Raise the minimum elevation.
  • Remove the poles and set the minimum glacier and tundra region counts to zero.
  • Decrease the minimum number of low-elevation squares.
