Flimsy dwarves
« on: December 11, 2020, 10:37:57 pm »

What is the best way to get dwarves in my fortress to raise their toughness?  (I have a bunch of flimsy ones running around) I know screw press helps with strength, but not sure about toughness.

See the wiki's list for Toughness.

Mining would probably be the easiest way to do it.  And if you have an obsidian farm, you never have to worry about running out of earth to mine.

1. Combat training is great, because your Dwarves also learn combat skills.
2. LIVE combat training is excellent, if you mitigate the risks. Helps train combat skills and discipline, though I am not so sure on training toughness safely.
3. Pump operator is your friend! Have your Dwarves rotate on pump operating shifts (doesn't even have to actually be pumping anything, you could treat the pumps as a dwarven gym), really resource cheap and easy to set up.
