Velimir nods, looking over the string intently for a few moments before speaking his conclusion. "Doesn't look like normal string or wire. Some kind of arts focus then?"

Espresso - Armory

The conversation was interrupted by a brown blur approaching at high speed. "Hey! Casimir, I was wondering if-" she paused, noticing the man's conversation partner. "Oh, sorry uh- Fox, yeah, I didn't realize you were talking with him, hi to you too," the Cautus spoke rapid-fire, and stopping only really to breath. "I can wait if you were busy, no problem!"

The Sarkaz raised a hand in greeting at the smaller rabbit woman with a smile. "Ah, Espresso, no I don't think we're very busy. Me and Fox were just talking about our respective implements of destruction since I just got done maintaining mine for the day." The horned man looked down to Espresso's hip, raising his eyebrows for a second but clearly deciding to hold off on whatever thought he had.

Fox-Armory

Fox started at the rabbit's entry. She was so fast. And energetic and. . . Fox took a deep breath, forcing calm, then nodded, satisfied with Casimir's summary. "Not busy. You should join us."

What had she been doing. A glance to her hands was enough of a reminder. Deliberately, she pulled her knife, and sliced a small segment of the string off, and placed it on the floor away from the other two operators.

"Watch." She said, before detonating the string. The report that followed was significant, and those who had not been watching the string would have noticed Fox leap backwards a foot in the air, stumbling into a weapons rack. Apparently she had not expected it to be quite so loud either.

Velimir watched the bit of the line that Fox placed down curiously, glancing back at the cat woman from the corner of his eye until the detonation partially deafened him, causing him to cover his ears as he backed away from the explosion a step. He took a few moments to recover from the ringing in his ears before he first looked at the now gone piece of the cord, before looking first to Myrna before finally his gaze came to a rest on Fox, who he quickly moved to assist after her unfortunate meeting with a weapons rack. "Holy... are you okay?"

Espresso - Armory

"Oh, what a coincidence! I was wondering if you had any ideas about- oh, what's that?" The excitable rabbit turned to look at Fox and the cord she placed. "Oh? What's that string? What are you-"

The next moment there was a loud BANG, and the one after Myrna was recovering her balance after stumbling back in surprise. "ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" she asked - more shouting - rubbing her ears a bit as she tried to will the tinnitus away.

Fox stumbled to her feet."I'm fine, it wasn't going to. . .I thought it wasn't going to hurt anyone. I didn't think it'd be so loud!" Fox shook her head, wringing her hands as she picked herself up. She looked aghast at Espresso and Casimir "Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I should have told you to cover your ears! Can you even hear me?" Her heart was still racing, hopefully they'd sign to their ears if she'd deafened them. Oh god, that would be. . .an exceptionally poor start their working relationship.

The Sarkaz spends a few moments rubbing his ears until he can get them working right again, before shaking his head. "It's fine! It was an accident... Ah fuck me...." Velimir rubs his ears one more time before finally finishing. "Explosions have a more potent concussive effect in enclosed spaces... So uh, maybe no more demonstrations? Uh... anyway, Espresso was saying something about getting her an actual weapon I think?"

Hooch - Landship Halls

Hooch was about to change the conversation to other topics when she heard what sounded like a gunshot.

She sprinted towards the source - the armory, unsure if she was scared as hell or mad as hell. It was one thing for people to have rivalries, but another entirely for people to get reckless around weaponry.

A black-and-white blur entered the room at high speed, suddenly materializing into a very angry-looking Hooch who quickly swept the room for danger before simply asking, "What the hell happened?"

Espresso - Armory

"What? Oh, it's ok! A bit of tinnitus won't hurt much!" Espresso said, still shouting as she waited for the ringing to stop. "What was I doing? Oh right! Yeah, I was wondering if you had any ideas for a real weapon." She pulled something off her hip. At first it looked like a flagpole, but closer examination showed it was a particularly sharp bit of broken rebar with a tablecloth wrapped around it to distinguish it from other bits of broken rebar. "I've been just kinda using this and it's actually worked surprisingly well but probably should be replaced unless my goal is to give anyone I hit with it a bad infection in like two weeks - oh hi, uh, Hooch, right, yeah-"

Remiel - Landship Halls
Remiel is about to respond before he hears a loud bang from the direction from the armory. He lifts an eyebrow.
"That sounds like our comrades having far too much fun! And so early, too. Aha...well, suit yourself, then, my friend. A good breakfast is a good start to the day, but if you've had yours, I won't pry. If you excuse me...."

Putting his headphones back on, he capers back towards the armory, humming to himself, seemingly entirely oblivious to Headbanger's attitude towards him.

"Again, I'm so sorry. You're right Velimir." Before Hooch entered, Fox took a deep breath, calming herself and letting a more blank look settle back on her face. The racing thoughts diminished, pushed aside.

In response to Hooch's question, Fox answered looking cautiously towards the other two, ". . . Nothing happened, right?"

The Sarkaz nods apologetically raising a hand to the base commander. "Yeah, yeah, it was just a slight weapons malfunction! Everything's fine now.... Want to help get Espresso properly equipped?" Velimir gestures to the Cuatus hoping to steer the conversation away from trouble.

Myrna blinked a few times, made a quiet 'ooooh', then pivoted so that the new arrivals could see the improvised weapon. "Yeah like I was saying this doesn't really seem to be a good long-term sort of weapon, is it? Granted I don't really have a lot of training with any specific sort of weapon so who knows, it did work well enough in that whole deal, but probably a real weapon would be better."

Hooch simply facepalmed. "Just make sure there are no more such malfunctions, all right? Wouldn't do to have one of our operators injured because of an accident that could have been avoided."

After seeing that the danger had passed, Hooch took a breath to calm herself. "Anyway... Justine Black, but you can just call me Hooch. I saw you earlier, Velimir, and I'm glad to see you two are doing well, Fox, Espresso... Or, I guess, well enough, considering. As for weapons... Any you're already familiar with, Espresso?"

Hooch gestured to the few weapons that were in the room. It wasn't a huge selection, and some of them seemed out-of-place (A spiked bat? A tire iron?), but the Cautus would simply have to make do for the time being.
