You currently gain 2 GP per cycle. You currently have a stockpile of 4 GP.

Current uses for GP:
Grow in a direction - 1 GP/tile
Grow an Eye - 2 GP
Grow a Leaf - 4 GP
Evolve - 1 GP+

The below image is your understanding of the world around you. The orange is you. Gray is unknown. Green in orange is a Leaf. Blue in orange is an Eye. Brown is ground. Black is some kind of hole.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.
