Wait a second, what does 'take over the world' even mean? Hmm, if it is with violence then I'm probably not trying to become elected as a world leader. Violence is really only good to intimidate or to destroy. Let's say I want there to be people left in the world, so I guess I am going to try to
intimidate the world population into conceding me as their ruler, and
destroy anyone who gets in my way. Then hold that position long enough to prove I could keep it, sounds good.
Now there's been a few folks that already tried to do something like this. Generally people fight back, nations unify, wars, and so forth. Wars are good, cause the violence part, but to actually achieve this in some lasting way, I need to one-up my predecessors. There's lots of new technology. Disease seems pretty potent, though maybe with Covid the global population is little too keen to try to use a dangerous new disease and everyone already has masks and keeps their distance. Hmm, shelve that idea for now.
Well as a so-far seemingly normal naked guy of unspecified ethnicity, I better see what powers I have. It must be pretty good if that thing up there makes me sound like an action superhero.
GOAL:
---Challenge: Resolve obstacles with violence!
---Challenge: Leave enough global survivors to rule over, and the more the better.
~7.8 Billion left---Win: The remaining population of Earth cannot reasonably oppose your rule.
Plot ArmorYou and NPCs can have meta protection from harm. Anything less then their armor rating will essentially be shrugged off somehow. Plot Armor increases are awarded to characters (and the player) for longevity and importance to the central plot. During the tutorial you have max plot armor("I need to abuse that").
-4: COFFIN. Technically or literally dead-on-arrival.
-3: DOOMED. WILL die.
-2: CURSED. Die to any danger.
-1: OUTLOOK NOT SO GOOD. Walking chapter plot token.
+0: UNCLEAR. Walking arc plot token.
+1: SCRAPPY. Walking arc finale plot token.
+2: OLD FAITHFUL. Walking "shit is REALLY hitting the fan!" plot token.
