Just got a new PC, I never heard of Covert Action. As for my art, I have unreasonable standards towards my work

Do yourself a favor and do so.  It's an old Dos title that some might call abandonware.

I'm reminded that apparently the secret to good writing is to do lots of good reading.  It's probably the same with video game design, at least up to a point.

My problem is that I did dumb things in this pursuit. Like trying and failing to learn 3D because I wanted to be noticed, thinking on a AAA level, how it was in the past. Instead of doing what I wanted, i did what was expected of the industry at large

Since I know zero about this stuff, I'll just remind you that most great games were made by more than one person.  Lay out what skills you have, what skills you could likely learn "easily", and start looking for a teammate that might be able to fill in the gaps.

And seriously, go play Covert Action just in case it's already the game you're imagining.  I'm pretty sure it isn't, but you'll undoubtedly have ideas to steal in the future.

Alright, Imma give Covert Action a try, might end up downloading the soundtrack as well if its good. But my idea is aesthetically more in the vein of Shadow President/Cyberjudas with some more emphasis on being espionage

Ok, then also try Hidden Agenda.  Should be available wherever you get Covert Action.  Sound track not as good though.  :P

something in my head tells me I should do something simpler as my start though, since I have slight issues remembering code
