Help installing LNP on Chromebook running Linux
« on: April 29, 2021, 08:03:01 am »

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is the best place to post this type of question so let me know.

I have a recent chromebook with the Linux (Beta) feature turned on. I have set up Dwarf Fortress using this guide:

https://isaac.truett.info/how/to/run-dwarf-fortress

I can get the game itself to run by going to /df_linux and running ./dfhack, but I cannot get the LNP to run per the instructions on that page. When I run ./startlnp from the ~/Games/LinuxLNP-0.47.04-r1 directory, I get an error message:

[1738] Error loading Python lib '/tmp/_MEI442pHz/libpython3.6m.so.1.0': dlopen: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /tmp/_MEI442pHz/libpython3.6m.so.1.0)
[WARNING] startlnp: Failed to start PyLNP

I know barely enough about linux to be dangerous and can't figure this out. It looks like my chromebook has a different version of GLIBC than LNP was compiled for. Is there a straightforward way to correct this?
