EDIT: Alright, saw other post.  Opossums are basically like feral cats*.  You stay away from them, and they'll stay away from you.  We got one at home that basically eat with the cats outside.

Opossums are all bark and no bite, from what I've seen them do is they act like they're gonna do something but they never do anything.

Yeah if it really bit you, I'd go to the doctor and get a rabies shot. They shouldn't bite, unless perhaps when you corner them and put your toe in the mouth.

No, because opossums are basically immune to rabies. They're not know to transmit rabies. A rabid opossum is a myth. Were-possums, though? Is leprosy the first sign of becoming a were-possum?

According to the Opossum Society of the United States:

"Any mammal can get rabies. However, the chance of rabies in an opossum is EXTREMELY RARE. This may have something to do with the opossum’s low body temperature (94-97º F) making it difficult for the virus to survive in an opossum’s body."

Different things. (Well, very similar different things, but Possoms are closer related to other Australian marsupials than their more distant Yankee cousins.)

Unless, instead of being "were-"(o)possoms with your standard therianthropy, they're actually possom-opossoms (or verse vica) having somehow been bitten by their counterpart. Before they they bit you.
