You can change the setting of all buildings at once from the building overview, each tab covering different building types.  Not great if you want to manage per territory but great when new tech unlocks to apply to all farms/factories at once.  Was a requirement for my Industrialize China play through.

Also yeah, would be nice if there was more info on who would accept what deal when.  You can get that for each deal quickly from the diplo screen per individual nation.  Which is fine if you are trying to work on individual nations diplomatically and not going for a specific deal type irregardless of the target nation.

I'm probably being blind, but is there a place in the UI that breaks down the causes of a given state's turmoil? I assume that'll associate with a Pop... if so, is there a piece of the UI that breaks down the causes of a given POP's turmoil?

turmoil is related to radicalism, you can find a breakdown of radicailsm source by hovering hover the radical numbers in the radicalism popup.



this is a breakdown of the sources, but to have a brakdown of the causes:

for standard of living you can hover to the different strata and see their demand

for political movement sources you can go into government and see the law they're asking

for discrimination you might want to promote the events that reduce discrimination (short term) or improve assimilation (long term)

I did around 6 hours today. Had no crash. Though I had no crash with the previous version as well.

Did another try at a prosperity run on Japan.
Got early serfdom abolished.
Just finished some trainways.

My prestige could be better but my gdp is close to 8th place.
Been trying to pass laws to curb the aristo's.
But I keep getting blocked. And once you hit 0 almost every time after that you only get stacking -15%'s. Had a -200% at one point.
I switch between two laws trying to get them passed. (Hope it's the appointed bureaucrats. That one helps a lot)

Haven't really happened onto any issues with it though.
Due to Japan being isolated. Wars don't really happen.

Latest open beta's out. Mostly changes to the economy - Now the investment pool is reworked so that it'll automatically build some industries based on the economy you're running.
Traditionalism is still awful, with severe maluses to the investment pool. Can only build farms, plantations and ranches.
Agrarianism increases the investment via aristocrats and reduces them from capitalists, and allows farmers to contribute. It'll automatically build farms, fisheries and the like.
Protectionism has no real maluses or buffs, just an extra 50% private sector construction, the ability to subsidise every industry, and the automatic building of any industry.
Laissez-faire increases the private sector's construction up to 75%, only allows subsidising infrastructure, reduces loan rates, prevents downsizing of non-government buildings, increases shopkeeper and capitalist investment, and disallows automated agricultural construction.
Cooperative ownership (new) makes farmers and shopkeepers the only investors as capitalists and aristocrats are abolished, same automated construction as laissez-faire, but the amount of private construction is halved and, shopkeepers and farmers being poorer, reduces overall investment.
Command economy enforces subsidies, removes the investment pool (All funds already in it are given to the government), increases authority 25%, and gives the government the profits (Although it'll start incurring inefficiencies the larger the number of industries under government control gets)

There's also changes to government, parties, and how legitimacy works.

Welp. Combat is still stupid.

Double the soldiers. Twice the barracks. Triple the general. Slightly better defense stats. Still get curbstomped.

The numbers they do nuthin!

Your military tech keeping up with theirs and are you utilising it? You have to check the new techs in the barracks to use them.

Also terrain does matter. Things like mountains reduce the amount of soldiers that can engage simultaneously, so even if one side's larger than the other only a small amount can engage simultaneously which can have really nasty effects in my experience.

It's the start of the game. We both have no techs.

Enemy has 16 army. I have 30 army.
And yeah only 4 on both sides can fight.


It's just stupid.

The USA is having a fun time in my game. They have:

Failed to invade Mexico
Failed to take Washington and Oregon from Canada
Failed to outlaw slavery, resulting in the Free States of America forming
Failed to keep slavery and had the CSA form

The CSA then:
Turned communist
Had New Africa break away

EDIT: Alright, I need some advice here.

How the FUCK do I fight Egypt? I'm playing Ethiopia, I had a numerical and technological advantage on my front AND I had France on my side with the same situation. Despite that, I lost every last battle I had with them because I'd only ever manoeuvre half the number of troops they had. I tried changing strategic objectives thinking it was the terrain, but apparently it wasn't because all that'd do is allow them to deploy up to 80 battalions while I'd only deploy 40 at most.

So, I'm resurrecting this thread in the vague hopes this can get answered:

Anyone know how the game calculates how many men you can pull into a fight?

I'm fighting the US, I'm able to get GB onto my side, I'm outnumbering them.

I attack them, I pull in at most 1.25x as many men as they have. More often fewer.

They attack, they *always* pull in twice as many men as I have.

It's leaving me rather confused as to how the game calculates the number of troops involved in a fight.
