why cant i make PI or steel

i have everything i need.... magma smelter, bars, flux, charcoal but no option to smelt pi

im unfamiliar with metalurgist forge etc from the mod did any of those take over steel and pig iron? only ores are visible in smelter

im cranking out copper and iron but cant upgrade my iron im stockpiling for steel  is there some other building i need in this mod?

depends what race you are playing as, but yes if you are dwarves i think you need the Metallurgist. 

this forum isn't as active as it once was.  there's a Masterwork namespace on the wiki that has a lot of info.

i saw that and steel isnt listed made me think maybe not?
ill build 1 here shortly and im a dwarf
