(One addition.  Suzy has a small floating cartoony-looking kitten over her shoulder.  It's currently wearing a space captain's hat.  This is the avatar of the microorganism colony.)

"A bit scared.. but not so bad.  I mean, just last month I set a whole bay full of harvested hydroponic lettuce on fire while trying to dry it out.  It'll be nice to be able to use my powers out here in the void, instead of having to keep everything locked up inside.  There were getting to be a few too many incidents, and you can't hide anything on the base.. when something happens everyone knows yesterday!"

"Also, it isn't forever.  Nothing's saying I can't go back and visit sometime!"

"Though.. the bigger question is what do we do now?  A whole universe is just so big.  Where do you start with trying to make one?"

After conversation, Suzy is also going to tour the ship.  If the sword wishes, Suzy will carry it.

"Well well, it would seem that we're off. How do you feel, leaving your homes?"

"Isn't like most of us had much of a choice in the first place is it? Regardless the past is in the past, I'm going to go start looking around this ship to see if there is anything on this thing that we weren't told about."

Steve starts searching the ship for secrets.

Edit: (Also Devastators character unironically scares the shite outta me)

"Well well, it would seem that we're off. How do you feel, leaving your homes?"

Lucca raises a tentacle almost in disbelief that she is talking without permission, Before remembering he is not at his homeworld, He is not a god, She is not his servant, His servants are gone and his parents are dead. “I have nothing left, So I feel nothing.” After that bit of optimism, Lucca decides to inspect the Xelqu heart.

(Won't argue with you there.  Also probably a not-uncommon NPC response, even among ones who don't know how it works.  Feel free to be scared or wary IC as well, if you'd like.)

(Suzy reminds me a lot of prototype and the blacklight virus. It’s pretty similar.)

(Well, other than the multi-year period taken to fully infest someone.  And no shapeshifting.  I'm also going to say that however infecting new hosts works, it isn't something that can happen easily or quickly.

The mental stuff, otoh..)

"Would you care to expand on that? Most people I've met have had great opportunity for choice, even if they don't always use it to the greatest extent."

Steve stops walking away freezes for a second then turns around "Oh? What do you know about choice? Your nothing but a sword incapable of even moving without assistance from a outside force. Doomed to the whims of whoever wields you until your inevitably lost or destroyed. So tell me why does the thing here most incapable of choice themselves have anything to say about my opportunities at having a choice?"

Edit: (Also does Suzy have free will? I notice you switch between talking about "Suzy" and Suzy alot and im not 100% sure if "Suzy" is controlling Suzy or what's up with that)

(Suzy has free will.  I'll name the avatar something else, (leaning towards Timo) which will speak for the colony, when it's relevant.  I would expect that the colony can play some games with biochemistry which could cause some mood swings.  It's not full control, but it's more than a little influence.)

"I know that even I have choices. I realized that long ago. I've seen what beings such as you can do once they realize the same thing."

Steve looks noticeably irritated "Tell me what choice do you have now? What "choice" would you have if I decided to throw you out of this ship right now? I'm aware that people have choices to a degree but there are some things that are beyond choice. You think I had a choice in what my future held? You think I had a choice in watching my father die? YOU THINK I HAD A CHOICE IN WATCHING MY PLANET AND EVERYTHING I WORKED FOR AND KNEW GET DESTROYED?" Steve takes a deep breath I know it may be hard for you to understand from your limited point of view but some things are beyond choice. Steve walks away

The distractible darisen pokes his head around the corner.
What's it like having one?

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.
