heck yeah, eye gouging
« on: February 27, 2008, 12:04:00 am »

I just figured out that the wrestling system lets you gouge out eyes, so I decided to be an elf and go on an eye-gouging spree through their only city in a pocket world. I've de-eyed a druid, a drunk, and five peasants. It's an amazing system. I just fear the guards with bows.

I'm currently running to the human town so I can strip and sell my clothing for an overdecorated iron shield to block the arrows.

Sounds useful. But I like strangling wolves.

I've discovered that pinching an animal in the nose is not only humorous and fulfilling, it also trains wrestling skill as much as gouging out eyes or crippling a major joint.

Releasing a grip also trains wrestling, for some reason.

I find that I can never lock their joints.

They also have no throat.

Some day we're going to be able to pull enemies' heads off.  :D

But those are just antmen.  Ratmen and batmen have joints and throats.

Besides, antmen are more fun to just squash.  Send them flying away with a good blunt weapon, and they'll blow apart, with all those excess limbs flying about, trailing ichor as they go.  Much more fun that way around.

The best way to train wrestling is to find an isolated zombie and break all it's limbs, then strangle it until you pass out from exhaustion.  Then when you wake up, continue, until you start getting hungry or thirsty.

Undead are also good for practicing spears with since they don't get harmed by pierced organs.  Course you need to make sure they aren't able to kill you first.

Well, that's the wiki's opinion.  Fact of the matter is, you can kill skeletons (not sure about zombies) with a spear, as it will still poke their limbs off.  And you don't need a zombie to strangle in order to train wrestling.

Just find some poor humanoid sap, break every limb, and then pinch him.  It gives just as much XP as strangling, and I think pinching even takes less stamina then strangling.  He'll spend all his time unconscious from the pain of having every limb broken, so he won't even try to attack you, like a zombie will.

Thing is, you can just hold the direction key towards the zombie once you've got a chokehold and it'll continuously strangle them.

Speaking of zombies, has anyone seen any ruins in recent versions?

I haven't, I noticed that yesterday, maybe ruins only happen when a normal town loses its population.

Cept, ya know, theres the problem of everyone rushing in to kill you. Many a time has a wrestling adventurere come to justice under my command.

My method for improving your wrestling technique:
A. play a pikeman
B. get pike stuck in an antman during a HUGE brawl between naked mole dogs, trogs, antmen, and giant rats. So big you don't actually have anywhere to move to unstick your pike.
C. ???
D. Profit or die.

If you press Shift-I and select your pike, it gives you the option to try to pull the pike out, but if you fail you lose it.
