I was today years old when I realized (in WotR) that each Elemental Specialist Wizard can cast acid fireballs, or electricity fireballs, or cold fireballs..  (or fire snake, volcanic storm, sirocco, molten orb, burning arc, burning hands, etc)
I didn't actually believe it was happening until I saw the damage type in the combat log.  Electricity-damage-type Controlled Fireballs.  Ok.  :o :D
My dream of having a 6 different damage type caster party can be realized! heheh.

Is sonic an element?  That'd be pretty broken but also it's the only magic damage type that's not resisted by 90% of the enemies so it'd be pretty nice.

Electricity is an especially rough damage type to specialize in, since demons are immune to it.

I didn't like Lann.  Wenduag is pretty badass though, I went warpriest on her going off some ideas online, going throwing axe instead of longbow.  Throwing weapons are really strong, and warpriest can replace weapon damage dice with an escalating value so it gets better over time.

The limitation on rebuilding characters to their join-up level really sucks, though there are mods for it.  Nenio's illusion specialization is alright, but she took abjuration as her opposition school which sucks

Protection from evil is good, other good abilities are align weapon, crusader sword, dispel magic. Cost tough enemies will have stacked buffs and you can neuter them hard with a dispel magic from a caster that can actually get it to land.  Raise dead is an easy way to get flanking or absorb a few hits, but they're barely speedbumps against tough enemies, slayer-type minibosses can probably wipe the whole squad in one full attack.

My party is...

Main guy.  Tiefling instinctual barbarian, going mythic trickster.  Early on you get blur and mirror image which are cool, later spells are even sillier, and trickster also gets skill feats that add bizarre new powers to the skills, e.g. trickster athletics can roll to break any crowd control, even mental ones.  Trickster perception can spot things that don't exist, adding new powers to magic items you find.

Camellia.  My other frontliner, fragile but she can rack up really high AC and hits reasonably hard.  Has some nice buff spells.  She's also a fun character, I like her.

Wenduag.  Like I said, warpriest ranged DPS, hits hard with throwing axes and can sneak attack.  Also has spells, mostly self-buffing stuff.

Nenio.  I'm annoyed that she doesn't have abjuration but she's still good.  Selective grease is only level 2 which she gets like 9 of with mythic spell slots and can trivialize some fights.  Selective web good too, selective create pit is nice to just remove enemies from the fight or get rid of dominated teammates until the fight is over, illusion buffs are nice.  Selective stinking cloud is a giant fuck-you button for non-demon/undead fights.

Daeran.  Mostly a bless and channel positive energy turret.  With phylactery his channel healing is huge, but his oracle weakness really fucking sucks and seems to bug him out sometimes.  He often fails to use touch-range heals, just walking up and not casting.  Still nice, and he's a fun guy.

Ember.  Ember is good just for slumber.  She has some other nice stuff but slumber is completely busted.  Ignores spell resistance, can only be used once on a given enemy and most will save against it but with no spell resistance anything that isn't sleep-immune has a 5% chance of getting dumpstered with coup de grace and multiple AOOs.
how can you make a warpriest out of wenduag when her wis is 12 ???

Lann is a far more solid priest...

wisdom hats are common enough, and the spells are just gravy, the weapon buffs are the real shit.  Escalating spirit weapon die means you can eventually have your war axe doing like 2d8 base damage and it gets a free +1 you can swap with whatever special ability you want.  I like keen.

Unfortunately, not for this selection, no..
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
However, with Mythic elemental damage immunity bypasses, there's no real bad choice, although certainly for most of the content in WotR, electricity isn't ideal until you get that.

You get an early energy bypass on Ember at least. Vulnerability is not a once a day hex and still lasts a round. Early game will still be rough. But it kinda seems if you wanna play the elemental specialist is also meant to grab elemental barrage too.

I got to Drezen and the game softlocked, so that's neat. The guards gave up halfway through battering down the final gate, but since they started battering down the gate you can no longer open it with the lever.

I guess I'm just stuck waiting for a patch now, and really hoping it's on the list of fixes...

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

Having been part of the beta I'm honestly shocked that the game is stable enough to soft lock some of the time instead of every time at least.

I couldn't get as far as Drezen since some bigger bugs were show stoppers earlier in the game for me, but the market square and Drezen maps were the buggiest spots in the game.

Also yeesh, I like the idea of the crusades mechanic, but it's taking a real long while to recruit troops and pyrric victories are too harsh of a set back. And unless I'm missing something the places you can rest to recover from corruption are really limited? I was hoping that at least the forts you take over protect you but either they don't or I'm missing something.

As I understand with forts, there is a building you need to build that allows you to rest and recover from corruption.

That's true, you can build a shelter that prevents corruption from increasing.  However..
The in game text is quite clear about how to remove ALL corruption.  It simply doesn't work.   :D
Even in version 1.02g, it doesn't work as expected.
Players have figured out a workaround, but essentially what you need to do is leave Drezen (or the camp, or an outpost), by yourself, either after resting, or then go and rest, and then return to your group, and your Corruption will be reset back to zero.  You have to embark without a group either before or after resting in a 'safe' location for the Corruption value to be updated/reset.

It's bugged, buggy, not working properly, broken, etc, for everyone.  Personally, if it had been my call to make, I would have removed the mechanic rather than push it to release/Prod the way it is now, but it was not my call to make.  8)  There was a free .CT released earlier in the year that disabled Abyssal Corruption during Resting, but that author (DrummerIX) succumbed to the temptation of $5.99 per cheating customer and removed the previous/free version with that option.
It's possible Corpo may add the "Disable Corruption Increases During Rest" feature DrummerIX had in his, but there's no guarantee.

Edit: As clarification, version 1.14 of Corpo's .CT, the corruption related scripts/toggles don't enable/work in version 1.02g.  He has them, they apparently worked in the past, they just don't currently work.

So turns out if you have dragons breath as an evocation that ignores spell resistance. Just an FYI, especially with how flexible and damaging it is.

Ha!  So that means you can have any cone/line damage type you want if you're a normal Sorcerer with the appropriate Bloodline.
You get to choose/switch any time you want between the two spell shapes/sizes.
Nice, chaoticag.

It may be a bug but I managed to get a spell on that wilderness dragon with 25 HD and 30 odd spell resistance.

Aaaand once I'm done with work I'll have to look if it really is on the alchemists spell book for some reason.

Turns out that spell resistance does work, I just managed to get it to work through sheer luck and ignorance.
