Nothing imo will ever come close to the joy I had with the wereblender undead cascade bug. In this bug, a were-creature would attack a fortress with the reanimating undead interaction in the biome. If the were-creature was killed or lost any hands/arms, those dead bits would come back as undead the same as anything else. However, the were-creature syndrome still applied to every single instance of "it." This meant that when the next full moon came, the severed hands and head of the undead were-creature would each become full-bodied versions of their were-creature form, all of which could spread the were-creature curse each full moon, or generate three more raisable corpses in their undead form each month. This could very quickly cause a cascade of undead were-creatures where fighting them just makes more of them for the next month

Okay, that is just broken, but also very sensical if you think about it. Did Toady patched it?

I love the idea of putting a werewolf arm on the wall of the tavern as a trophy after a successful defense.
Then, one night, an entire werewolf just grows out of the arm. Incredible mental image.

Artifacts bearing prophecy.
Artifact descriptions are made upon observation (art too, I believe) which means if you look at an artifact made in 125, then look at an artifact made in 120, the one in 120 can have an image of the one made 5 years later. Although it is a bug, it does give artifacts a mystical air.

I believe it was patched well over half a decade ago

It's all funny until a Dwarf makes an artifact depicting their own death...

It was a very short lived bug, (un)fortunately

All feline creatures have eye teeth (correct term for upper canines), but no manibular lower canines so they're always unbalanced.

Dwarfs will forget to drop items sometimes, so they carry it around and use it when fighting, gaining in Misc Obj skill and growing attached to it.

This resulted in the travelling scholars/book thieves. They'd come, read a book from the library, and fail to return it, just walking off the map with it instead.

"Do you know where I can find myself?"

"I don't know myself, and I don't know anyone that could tell you."

Peak Dwarf Fortress just love it.

Oversight:
Civilizations arriving with any substances their animals can produce.
Such as a barrel of hedgehog blood, a barrel of honeybee venom, or, if modded to be pets, a barrel of human tears.

This thread's been a while.  I changed my mind.  My favourite is:  Elves using Forgotten Beast silk and Divine metals.  But not for weapons, no!  Only for banjo.

Divine banjo is still better than adamantine sutures. Kogan the 12 year old scraped his knee on some rough cavern floors? Let us use the finite metal of Armok to stitch it back up.

A barrel of tears?

Just picturing a dwarf that drinks elf tears with a mug that has those words on it.
