"How are you doing? I've never had the opportunity to talk to you outside of formal functions."

The evasive answer didn't go over Shiro's head. There was something going on there other than a social call.
"As good as usual, I suppose." It was true. Nowadays, she was in a bad mood more often than not. "My responsibilities usually have me too busy to stop and talk, for better or for worse."

"Skipping school..." Mori questioned aloud "...very well, I was the one saying this was an urgent matter. Just as long as this does not become a regular occurrence."

He turned to Ms. Kurenai


"And what do you think of that decision, as our teacher?"

...This request is going to get in the way of my plans, isn't it? Of course, his first impulse was to tell Akitsuki that they would need to delay their plans (an active purpose-of-the-club duty) in favor of his own (a mere request for advice). That could not do.


Let this be a pop exam for myself, on a new subject. I need to take this slowly and carefully.

What time were you planning to fulfill this request?

To start, a short, simple query of scheduling. Surely both parties would better be able to approach their matters smoothly through exchange of basic information. If it conflicted with his plans, then he would share that information, and they could begin to negotiate. Evenhandedly.

"A shame. A friendly ear can often lighten the burden, or so I hear. Certainly a better ear than one's own."
Kanade nods.
"....Of course, I hear they have a club for that here, if nobody else will hear you out."
Ms. Kurenai lifts an eyebrow.
"Well, lunch just started, so if you leave now, you'll probably make it back for the first lesson after. Don't worry if you're a little late. I'll cover for you."
Won't be too long. Just going to talk to Miyazono-kun then Tadano-kun in a bit. Maybe ten minutes, tops?

"Very well," he looked at Yui and Akihiko "Are we all prepared to leave?"

"I don't need a club to help me deal with my own life. If I contact Kasuga and Akitsuki, it will be for something more important than this."

"More important than your well-being, Akari? You're rating yourself way too low. Or Kasuga and Akitsuki's time too high."
"It couldn't hurt you to ask, anyway."
Kanade inhales.
"Unless of course, you have others you can come to for help."
Akihiko starts heading out.
"Well, I'm going first. Clock's running. Can't leave our clients hanging. Also, I owe Sakurajima."

[Smoke Mirrors]

"Then why were you fighting me so much on getting to her request!?" Mori internally shouted as he followed behind Akihiko.

[Chevaleresse]

Despite herself, Shiro snorted.
"I think that's the first time I've ever heard someone say that I wasn't thinking highly enough of myself."
"Rest assured that's not what's happening. I'm an Akari, we're made of stern stuff." And that's exactly why you're wrong. It can and will hurt me to ask. "We didn't survive this long being so frail that a cramped schedule would be enough to run one of us down."

"My, my, you sound like my grandfather."
"And a cramped schedule, huh? I wouldn't know about something like that," Kanade remarked wryly. "Or how to deal with one."
"Still, you also didn't survive this long in the world alone, you know, Akari or not. Though.,.....something tells me a cramped schedule's not quite your only problem."
As Akihiko, Yui and Mori make their way out of Hermelin towards the park, they pass by the hospital.

The Hojo Memorial Hospital was a state-of-the-art facility, one of the best hospitals in Japan, even before it was renovated and funded as the local Kaname-cho Hospital. Funded by Aiko Mishima, wife to Yosuke and mother of Kanade, the Hojo Memorial Hospital was one of the Mishima Corporation's more well-known charitable efforts, named for the doctor that treated the young Kanade when she had been sick with a deathly illness as a baby, or so the story went. The doctor, of course, currently worked at the hospital as Head of Paediatrics. As such, it was probably the best hospital for miles, given the funding put into it by the Mishimas.

And so it was that Akihiko's group ran, quite abruptly, into Kanna Sakurajima exiting the hospital.
"...Kasuga...Sawatari..."
"Did you...tell them, Sawatari?"
"Tell us what?"

"Of course not," Mori replied "I said I wouldn't, and I guarantee all clients confidentiality. But given the current situation, I would implore you to tell them yourself."

Excellent. They were planning on acting during lunchtime, not after school. Their endeavors would co-exist separately.

That shouldn't interfere with us directly, then.

Given my position, I would prefer to be neutral in regards to the clubs. But I pray you are able to help a fellow student council member.

Masaru considered perhaps he too should help Tadano, especially if he was going to impose additional duties on him, even if it fell outside of his jurisdiction. But he didn't want his own concerns to spread too far too quickly. And besides, he couldn't stand having to deal with added travel time, especially while the halls were like to be crowded. Too many variables.

[Chevaleresse]

"I'm not sure I should be baring my heart to a Mishima. Besides, I have my family for support." The strain in her voice as she spoke the latter was painfully obvious. Shiro's eyes narrowed.
"Why do you care, anyway?"

"Well, we ain't going to find Miyazono here in the club room. Let's go."
