Even as a small child you had a knack for figuring things out. One of the first things you figured out pretty well was locks, and more specifically how to pick them.
(+Skill: Lockpick)Your parents had a hard time keeping you confined anywhere, and nothing could stop you from feeding your curiosity. Nothing except
rules and
guards. Uninitiated children weren't allowed to enter the Sacred Armory, so of course you wanted to take a peek. It took quite some time, but eventually you figured out the patterns of each guard and when patrols were thinnest. Using the cover of night you found a window you could pop open and make your way inside.
(+Skill: Stealth)Your first time inside was an amazing experience. Double-barrel shotguns of all sorts were stored in cases and on shelves, crates packed with boxes of shells were stacked from floor to ceiling. Serapes denoting various ranks in their patterns were folded in a large sorted pile in one corner with bandoliers hanging from hooks on the walls. Almost every night you would make your trip to the Sacred Armory, grab a sacred shotgun, and make your way someplace safe and quiet to fiddle with it. There was nothing better than a double-barrel shotgun, and you needed to know how they all functioned, handled, and occasionally broke. But you always managed to put everything back and get to bed before the sun rose.
Unfortunately one thing you didn't get is sleep, so for all the time you spent with the weapons chosen by your people, you wound up daydreaming about your adventures or asleep throughout a lot of the more traditional foundational education you were supposed to get.
(+Perk: Shotgun Savant),
(+Flaw: Low Attention-Span)Even more unfortunately, one night while you were out with your favorite
Sawn-Off 12 Gauge and
Shell Bandolier a group of Banditos raided the Monastery Range. Their attack focused on the Sacred Armory and they made off with quite the haul. They also made it impossible to sneak back in and put everything back unnoticed. Good news was at least the bandits would get the blame for anything that went missing.
(+Items: Sawn-Off Double Barrel 12 Gauge, Shell Bandolier)As with all Double-Barrel Disciples, your eight birthday marked your first steps into specialized education. What was it about you that stuck out to your instructors?
A. Your understanding of the written word was above and beyond your peers, making you the perfect
Initiate Scribe tasked with making copies of the documented Disciples history.
B. Excellent vision saw you become
Shot Caddy to the top hunter in the Monastery Range. You were responsible for spotting, skinning, and hauling kills.
C. You were always tall and muscular for your age, so it was only natural that you joined the
Shotguard as a
Novice, drilling and training to protect the Monastery Range from threats.
D. Nothing about you stood out, so you were put to work as a
Loader. This humble but necessary role was responsible for loading shells to feed the shotguns.
