Unfortunately a certain amount of phallucy is required to get a rocket to space with modern tech. Gotta keep things as streamlined and aerodynamic as possible while also minimizing the amount of mass carried along, and that tends to result in rod-shaped ships with tapered points and side-mounted boosters that detach mid-ascent.

Now, if we were talking about some futuristic star-faring vessel unbound by atmosphere or the current laws of physics, I like to think the ISS Twelfth Bay would be made of ever-shifting blocks of modules. This would result in both exterior and interior slowly changing from year to year, never constant, constantly procedurally generating new forms as if under the grip of a mad but brilliant god.

Lets get more specific, how about the insides of the ship? A tavern, a quantum stockpile, an atom smasher and a drowning chamber are pretty much guaranteed to be in. A room with a piece of aquifer for infinite water would also be a prerequisite. A mermaid farm? You bet.
