Quote from: Emilia's Heal
Tanja gains 8 HP and is no longer dying!

Worn out, but not out yet, Rork channels his remaining, fleeting strength into one last swing. Unbeknownst to him at the time, it was a single action changing the course of history, and his own destiny.

An action that would free him.

The blade of Rork's axe buries deep into Ghal's right shoulder, and comes to a halt only after it got buried deep within his chest. His right lung was definitely damaged beyond salvation, and Ghal stumbles backwards, against the wall, before slumping down, his grip on his weapon loosening, fighting for every single breath of air he could catch. In response, what remains of the ruthless bandits begins to drop their own equipment, and also drop on their knees, slowly raising their arms.

Ghal's Marauders are no more.

Of the Entourage, most were beaten and battered, but all survive. First aid and bandages were applied, and the former bandits volunteer to assist. It was clear on their faces that, even if severe and capital punishment would await them, they felt light in their hearts. It is clear that fear was what bound them to this place, even if the crimes they committed are their burden.
Ghal needs his entire strength to just breathe and his weapons were taken and made unusable. After removing the axe, the wound was deep and unsightly. He is no threat anymore. In fact, his distant stare and glassy eyes suggest he will no longer do anything soon enough. Dunas, after ensuring everyone was alright, stands before and above him.

"You were a terror, now you are but a husk. Whatever drove you, it was for naught. In the name of the people of Khalderas and by His Majesty's will, King Alfalm of Dunland, I hereby sentence you to death."

The only response towards his own execution was for Ghal to smirk.

With the surviving former bandits in makeshift shackles and leading the group, the Entourage reaches the treasure room of the Marauders. Surprisingly enough, things were in an unusual amount of disarray. In one corner, there is Noel, cowering and shivering, facing the wall, not realizing that someone entered. Her forehead is covered in scratch marks and she stares at her own fingertips, minimally covered in blood.

"C-c-c-c-cu-cursed.... I am... Aaah... Ah... No..."

On the opposite end of her, in an alcove that was previously hidden, a small bejeweled case stands open, a medallion made of fiery red metal and ornamented with six differently-colored gems resting on purple velvet...

"Oi." Rhian limped toward the captive. "Ghal's dead. You're coming with us." She ignored the presence of the fancy and definitely not plot-important medallion, opting to focus on the issue in front of her despite her injuries.

Lulu decides it’s best for her to blend in with everyone when she came back. Best not to make it TOO obvious that she didnt join combat and got out of this situation without a scratch. Especially since a lot of them look pretty beat up. Oh well~

Upon being led to the treasure room her eyes glisten with glee. If these bandits had so much gold in one chest, imagine how much they would have in their room dedicated for it!!! Then she takes notice of the medallion and practically drools. "Oh? What a pretty little thing! Imagine how much we could sell this for! This could probably feed me for years!" The magician reaches down to grab the medallion, her greed blinding her to any potential consequences.

As Lulu reaches out for the medallion, Noel swiftly turns in her direction, shouting.

"NO, DON'T...!"

But too late. As Lulu handles the circular disk, a light gently radiates from the red gem, tinting the torchfire-illuminated room in a faint red hue.
Upon closer inspection, Lulu notices that within the circle of gems there is an emboldened decoration, something she has often seen on important flags associated with Dunland: The Crest of Fire, the symbol of Charos.

The meaning of the red light would be...

"Impressive. That must be one well-crafted imitation that it is able to emit light like that, just like during an Emblem Ceremony."
"... Why was it red...? And so weak...? It was... different..."
"... Different?"
"T'was ice-blue... and powerful... almost blinding..."
"... ... By the Goddess..."

A blue light would be associated with the Crest of Ice, the symbol of Ghiran, founder of the nation of Westwind.

By the Goddess...

"Sir Dunas, if this is real, why is it here? Or is it a trick.." Artair's eyes dot around, lingering on Rork and this.. girl trembling before them, before focusing on Lulu. "If it isn't a trick, this amulet shouldn't react if.. A Bloodless touches it right?"

To find someone like this here, an amulet that... Her Grandmother would want this, but, why is it all mixed up. There should have only been fighting for honor and maybe knighthood in a rising settlement. What's going on...

Rhian looked between Noel and Dunas, brow furrowed.
"What's Major Ghiran blood doing here of all places?"

"Lulu whatever you have there I'll make certain to get you anything you want as long as you promise not to sell this thing. At least, of course, until i properly got to study it's intended purpose."

Maria was certain she wouldn't be able to figure out what this bloody thing was about. At least, without the help of a proper scholar that is. But that didn't matter, for what mattered to her right now was that she wanted to stop Lulu from having any dumb ideas with it. Just like that tome she got from her through the pact they both had struck.

Dunas nods towards Artair.
"Indeed, Artair. Assuming Lulu is Bloodless... which seems to not be the case. Whoever her parents are, at least one of them seems to have had Charos blood within and passed it on."

Meanwhile, Noel stares at Rhian, dumbfounded and confused.
"A... wait, why Major Ghiran, lady?"
Then, her eyes widen in shock.
"Ya suggesting lil' me has royalty in blood?! Damn, can't ya see I'm but a countryside girl? Besides, I lived with my pa until... well, until I ran out of luck, I guess... Still! Ain't no way Talos knocked up my ma!"
"Either the father you know is not the one who, ahem, conceived you, or your parents were of both Minor Ghiran and you're a miracle child. Both cases are exceptional."
Noel reacts to these words by sulking in her corner again, albeit facing the group this time.

"The third option would be that the trinket there is an exceptional forgery, but considering it detected Major Ghiran within you, that would be inconceivable... Still, at least we can chase this lead right here, right now. Even though I am under no authority to hold one, I suggest we perform an Emblem Ceremony. Everyone who wishes to volunteer may step forward and grasp it, to confirm their bloodline."
Dunas glances in Lulu's direction.
"Don't worry about that, Maria. If I determine it to be the true Fire Emblem, Lulu, place it back into the case. No amount of money can reach you within the deepest cell of the dungeon if you'd try to pilfer it."

Emilia stares at the amulet, and ponders the implications of what they just said.
"One of major Ghiran blood....are you sure that was what you saw? A blue light? A forgery would be nigh-impossible to make, not with any magic within this world."

Rhian sighed. It was bound to come up sooner or later, and it didn't actually say much on its own anyway.
"Give it here. I'll try not to bleed on it too much." She thrust her axe through a loop on her belt before reaching out toward Lulu.

Rork was still dizzy from the aftereffects of Ghal's drugs and poison laced blade, plus the wounds he had taken in the fight. That, and the relief at turning a ghost of his past into an actual ghost made him a less reserved than usual.

"Where in the hell did Ghal of all people get this? Isn't this something only a Royal would have? That's well above his grade. And above what he'd survive or get away with without causing a fuss."

Still leaning against the wall a little as the adrenaline drained out of her, Tanja opined.
: "It has to be a fake. If the real Fire Emblem went missing after the war, as one of the king's knights you'd be one of the first to know Sir Dunas."

Noel nods at Emilia.
"Abso-totally-lutely, lady. T'was like the light came from my very head! Hence the, err..."
She points at her scratched forehead.
"Right, I remember now. If one of Major Blood touches an Emblem, or touches someone else of Major Blood, the invisible birthmark shines on their forehead. If you hold the Emblem again, assuming it is real, then we should be able to see the Crest of Ghiran on your head. I cannot imagine a forgery to be capable of bringing out the birthmark."

Dunas' attention then moves towards Rork and Tanja.

"Absolutely. The Six-pardon, the Five Knights would have combed through even the most treacherous mountains of southern Wyrmpeak to reclaim it. Every nation would have been our ally in finding it. Even Westwind would have provided at least some support, the war and them still fighting against Darkspawn is no reason to neglect searching for a lost heirloom of the Chosen themselves. And as you rightfully claim, Rork, this is too much to handle for a group of bandits, even one as notorious and long-lasting as the Marauders. So... why? I don't understand..."
"If I may, good sir... Dunno how much this might help, but... None of us knew about any Emblem thing being here. And Ghal was no stranger to bragging 'bout his trinkets. Although... Oh. Yeah! Creepy dude talked about relocating something after he threw me in here. Y'know, he..."
Noel shortly gazes towards Rork.
"... Did creepy dude meant the Emblem? The crud does he know about it?"

"Creepy dude huh? I suppose the one who did all this thought that it would be save here with Ghal nor any of the marauders having the knowledge of what this thing does, even if it came to an accidental discovery such as this. That is at least how I'd have handled such a delicate matter, not to say I'd ever think of such blasphemy..."

Maria thinks for a moment, then a sudden thought came to her mind

"But wait...if this is indeed the actual fire emblem, and no one knew it was missing...that means that whoever came up with this idea must be somebody of a high rank or be very close friends with somebody like that. At the very least, it must be someone where exchanging it with a fake could go unnoticed for so long. But what would they gain from this I wonder"
