Eiriol puffed her cheeks a bit at Dunas' response her excitement dropping a bit "But there are plenty of stories of animals secretly being people. What if your Horse is a super awesome specials person horse." she said giving Dunas a puppy dog look "Oh, okay then I am just Eiriol and not Eiriol Myrick of the house that people have silly stories about." Eiriol says happily to Ceodor.

"Skip me for the blood test. Doesn't matter what a bandit has in his blood, unless it's special like hers."

Rork sticks a thumb out towards Noel, and then he pauses. He supposed this time, he had to own up to his actions instead of hiding from them. Not that he could run far right now, with how Ghal had messed him up. He'd just rot out without additional medical care, knowing that poisonous bastard.

He carefully pulls out his axe and lays it on the ground at his feet, and then looks to Dunas. "I suppose I'm due for the chains as well, Lord? Even if I didn't run, I did betray you to save my hide. And try to save hers."

"It would indeed be amusing if my steed had 'super awesome specials' abilities. But Ghalymae is already an exceptional partner for me, you can be sure of that... Eiriol who is not of House Myrick..."
Dunas scratches his head. He plays along with Eiriol's wish to not inquire her past, as clumsy as it was, but he feels awkward about it.

Then Rork spoke his mind.

"..."
"Rork..."

Dunas turns towards him.

"You took my hand when I reached out for you. You did not betray me to keep yourself safe, otherwise you'd have walked away. And now I know that you did it because you wanted to do the right thing. I will look into your past deeds while you were with the Marauders, but as far as I'm concerned, you are already on your way to reform yourself with your help in ending Ghal once and for all."
He stretches his arm out in Rork's direction with an open palm.
"Actions speak louder than blood or status for me. I would be honored to know you at my side in the future. Of course, my coin will continue to be good."

Rork nods slowly, reaching out as well to give his master a proper handshake. It looks like his head was due to stay attached for now, which was a relief.

"I hear yah, Lord Dunas. I'm with you to the end. Wherever that end is."

Emilia ponders the offer.

She shakes her head.
"Even if I did not know where I came from, it wouldn't matter. I know the blood of Usala flows through my veins, but I am more proud that the blood of Gunnthra Ragnvald also does."

The Maiden Warrior nods.
"Whatever reason the Fire Emblem has to be here, it cannot be good. We fought to end a war. As long as lives are endangered, I see no reason to back down."

She notes Rhian standing by her side. All told, she didn't seem much older than her younger sisters. Emilia had noted this a long time ago, but for some reason, it felt more important now.

"Until the end of this, I will accompany you. Never once did I doubt Rork would return to us, I doubt not my companions who stand here with me, and not once will I doubt this path of ours."

Ceodor, who had been shackled like the others despite the earlier assistance, shimmies closer to Lulu.
"I believe this 'garbage' belongs to me, if you got it from the storage room."
He lowers his head.
"Although I'm at no position to negotiate, obviously..."
"We'll discuss this later at the outpost, Ceodor. As for you, Lulu... ... If you behave and keep that tome safe for now, you'll get a piece of cake, pie or tart of your choice from me."

Lulu doesn't really care what Ceodor had to comment on. There's something more important now. Lulu stores the book once more without a peep, still in defeat on the floor. Then raising her hand back up, holding up two fingers she simply says still pouty,

"...Two Pieces..." The greedy girl knows what she wants and is trying to get away with more.

Sir Dunas lightly bows towards Rork and Emilia. It can be felt that he is truly grateful for their support.

And he knows how to gain support from more "stubborn" subjects.
"You can have two pieces now, or you can have one piece now and when the royal family hosts a feast in honor of the Five Knights and us bringing peace and stability to Wyrmpeak, I'll promise you a seat at it. There may be a banquet following the feast, all the sugary delights you can imagine. Final offer."
Of course, Lulu would only get to the banquet part of the feast if she manages to bring her best behaviour on that day. But surely the reward would be worth it?

Then Rork spoke his mind.

Truly inspiring. To be ready to face your crimes so freely for your old friends, and to fight so bravely against your past. Even as he nearly fell, he still manages. to land that final blow with all his strength

... I should follow his example. No matter what the past, here and now is what matters. Yes, I'll do my best in service to Sir Dunas. Artair clenches her fist in resolve, Emblem in hand. And then Lulu opens here mouth for seconds.

Ceodor, who had been shackled like the others despite the earlier assistance, shimmies closer to Lulu.

"I mean, it's sweets, but really Lulu? Sir Dunas is offering a rather poisoned re... Kay, not the time to joke about that." Artair mumbles something keener ears can hear.

"If I may, I'd wish to know if Heritage carries anything of importance. It's for my research into the matter, that is"

Maria was to both parts equally excited and terrified of the prospect of finding out. Given that she wasn't the firstborn of her family, there was a very real chance she might've been bloodless. This of course wouldn't mean anything to her standing in this entourage, but... something she couldn't fully explain would break inside of her if she was indeed of no blood to speak of. She just didn't know what that something was.

"Please forgive my transgression on such a delicate matter Sir Dunas. But to know about my Blood would mean a lot to me"

With that, Maria turned towards Artair.

Artair notices she' clenched it rather tightly, and loosens her hold to pass it over.
"Here. And I believe Minor Blood confers certain qualities? I don't know enough about Major Blood." Artair holds it outpasses it to her.

Lulu takes a moment to ponder. A royal banquet is surely bound to have many tasty treats. A lot of which probably would be out of her budget or not even available to her... All she'd need to do is sit there and look pretty until the food rolls out... Hmmm... She lowers her hand and wipes the drool leaking from her mouth before standing back up and dusting herself off.

"Weeeeell, I suppose one slice for now is fiiine!" She grows a smug look as she shrugs, "Just make sure to get me that seat feast or I may demand interest for this agreement!~" Man... that was probably too easy...

In Maria's hand, the yellow gem of Usala on the Emblem brightens the room. Thus concludes the inofficial Emblem Ceremony, with many revelations, and many more questions. But for the moment, those have to be pondered at a different time, at a different place.

And one additional question is the disappearance of Ghal's corpse after the entourage begin their way back home. He was definitely dead and executed properly. The most logical conclusion would be that Ernod took the corpse. But for what reason and purpose? And speaking of Ernod, if he was indeed after the Fire Emblem, how come they never saw him again after Rork's perceived betrayal? A mystery that will likely not be solved anytime soon.

The return to Dunas Outpost was peaceful and serene, a contrast to the hectic and dangerous chase earlier that day. Sir Dunas stands true to his word and makes Noel a prisoner, albeit one able to freely move within said outpost. Together with Ceodor and the other former Marauders, they were given a new chance by offering to partake in various menial labors in exchange for freedom of movement within the outpost. Of course, they were still under strict observation, there was initial friction with the citizens of the outpost and they had to spend the night in cells, but these newfound laborers became part of the small community in no time.

Sir Dunas also ensures that the Marauder's stolen riches are returned to their rightful owners. That is, most of it. Transport costs and fees are a thing and the questing knight shaved off the top just a tiny bit to reinvest in the outpost. Others would likely not be so generous in their efforts, so none of the affected nobles dare to protest. Plus, investments into the outpost ultimatively result in the group getting more purchase power.

Two weeks have passed since Ghal's demise.

Banditry has hit an all-time low and settlements in Wyrmpeak start to flourish. The entourage gathers at the meeting hall in Sir Dunas' estate, having grown a bit alongside the rest of the outpost. The usual affair, discussions and reports to be digested. It was not for long before interesting messages are announced, however.

"That concludes the reports. Now... His Majesty has invited all of us to the castle. As predicted, there will be a feast to honor the Five Knights' deeds in Wyrmpeak. We will depart in two days at sunrise, so I expect you to be prepared and ready by then. I have also managed to acquire a list of guests. It will be a large feast. Aside from us and the Five Knights, there will be the Dukes and Duchesses of Dunland, representatives of a number of noteworthy nobles such as House Brenyron, House Myrick and the Marchioness of Ralm, a representative of the Clavesh Guild of Archeology as per Her Majesty's wish... This list is very much stuffed."
Dunas slowly places down the letter he was reading from. He emits a deep, somber sigh as his eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"... ... For reasons that elude me... His Majesty has announced to hold an Emblem Ceremony too..."
The source and reason of his confusion was unambiguous. Dunas shakes his head.
"I will have to think about that one for the next few days. If you have any questions, you may freely approach me. Until then, as I've said, prepare for departure in two days. You have already been granted funds from the estate for this purpose. This meeting is adjourned. Thank you very much."

After the meeting concluded, the knight seeks out Emilia, handing her a letter. It was wax-sealed, and the wax bears the symbol of House Ragnvald.
"Before I forget. It arrived this morning."

Grandmother will be there. I'll need to represent as part of Sir Dunas' entourage. Which likely means a new weapon. Do I go with or without my armor though... I could get out that hat. Might also need to get my hair fixed up.

Artair also heads to Alem's Shop to buy a Steel Sword.

She's not the only one looking to get a weapon though, an sees Rhian there.

"Ah Rhian. I see you're also getting something?" she states a bit awkwardly. It's a bit odd after she stood to protect her when she got downed, and there hasn't really been a time to talk afterward?
