Hold up, now, the thread said unofficial religions only.
.
Does Shinto count, since it's not an organized religion and is based on an individual's personal beliefs ?

Gods break rules, bro.

I was brought up by two Christians, a witch who taught me about fey and a mage who insisted I could summon storms.

I'm not a Christian but when I'm caught in a thunderstorm on my bicycle I unironically pray to the fey (as I head to low cover, and also experience overwhelming religious feelings).

Storms always seem to occur on pivotal moments of my life, and fey are as unfalsiable as that dick Y-wh-h.

Hey now, they're even more unfalsifiable since there's a bunch of different kinds of them instead of ostensibly just the one. Give them the credit they're due :V

Heh, fair!

I'm also interested in animism, or "household spirits" to be Classical Italian about it.  Perhaps related to the fey.  The idea of assigning spirits to things we don't understand seems, I don't know, relatively harmless??

Perhaps it's tragic that the progress of knowledge ends such beings.  But who's to say that that isn't natural?  Furthermore - who has explained that mystery to a dog?  Perhaps these anthropomorphic mysteries live on in the poorly informed.

tldr; Maybe I'm worshiping The Memes, Jack
Edit: Fucking ouch, Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance is 7 years old.

Edit2: Animism is also so inherently human that it happens consistently throughout history, even in people dedicated to monotheism.  Sure they reject it, by doctrine, but they still see beings in the dark.  See motive in objects and phenomena.

That doesn't mean that there are real entities there, but it's more evidence than any religion has ever offered.

I know Novel said not to worship Armok but if gods can break rules then so can we, let us all join together in worshiping Armok!

but if gods can break rules then so can we
...then we have become as gods!

(Which we are, whenever we fire up DF. Maybe incompetent, capricious, mistaken or even conspicuously hands-off, depending upon our playing styles and/or experience, but we are at the very least the localised spirit whose ability to manifest wonders waxes and wanes with the individual(s) whose wellbeing we are responsible for, whether they realise this or not. Shades of Narnia (as explained in The Last Battle) as well as Middle Earth, Discworld, etc...)

Everyone knows that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is just an inferior shadow of the Invisible Pink Unicorn. For one thing, it isn't even invisible or appreciably pink!

Now you've summoned the Pink Elephant. Gods and memes, gods and memes... where's one about the other can be seen. Betwixt the two and thine crept scurrilous accusations, leveled a small, black-dotted zebra god (yes, i know. That's what makes him a god) from the back of the local pantheon's Association and Alehouse and Allotment.

What's with all the Egyptian stuff you said unofficial religions only, it's starting to feel like you've derailed your own thread.
