"I wish, but I already had one. Think about it - I gotta be ready, you know! Ready to serve, I mean. It would be rude of me if I weren't able to serve the Duchess if she needed my assistance suddenly because I'm drunk, or too busy partying! I gotta think about her safety and comfort, after all, all the time. Because if not me, who else will think of that?"

A) CHATTY: "Now that we're alone, what's with your bodyguarding of the Duchess?"
B) CHATTY: "I've spoken with the Duchess about you before, was your family close to hers perhaps?"
C) CHATTY: "And when you will think about yourself for a change?"
D) FLIRTY: "Well, if we're alone, we can have some fun together then, right~?"
E) Shrug and idling is the answer.

The question makes Vanessa gag on the air she is breathing, it seems. After few seconds of confusion, she lets out a gasp, and then looks aside.

"I... uh." She exhales through her nose.

"Whatever!" She turns on her seat and seems ready to catapult herself away and towards the gate, but just sits there for a long moment.

Slowly, she adjusts herself so that she is facing you again, a soft blush on her face.

"I don't like thinking about myself because... because! Alright? Like... whatever, geez." She glances at you, seemingly mulling over in her thoughts, before she sighs.

"Alright, fine, get me something chea- a shot of Cherrybomb." With a nod, you grab a shot glass and pour some of the bubbly cherry-colored synthol into it. After passing it over to Vanessa, she lets you ping her credchip. (+10c)

Vanessa takes the shot glass, looks at it mournfully, then downs the synthol in one go.

She lets out a sigh afterwards.

"I don't know how I'm supposed to think about myself, alright? Uh, I've spent my childhood growing up for this role. The Duchess and her family and palace was supposed to be my everything. I was supposed to be rewarded with titles and money and prestige and... and then it came crashing down. I'm basically homeless, and in fact, if not for Arma, I mean, the Duchess, I would be creditless too! I'm stressing over the idea I might lose her one day. By accident or by my fault. Especially my fault. What's a bodyguard that fails to ensure safety of their employer? I can't fail her!" Vanessa only briefly gets upset this time, and pushes the glass away from herself.

With a sigh, she leans away, thinking, then snaps back to straight position.

"Sorry. I'm feel I'm being a a bitch towards you, and its my fault." A slight blush and aside glance tell you that the blonde mercenary isn't one to apologize and certainly isn't comfortable with apologizing.

"But no more drinks, for now." She smiles softly, and props her chin on her gloved hands, eyeing you with curiosity.

A) "Anything else?"
B) CHATTY: "Hey, so you're her bodyguard, what's the whole story behind the exile though?"
C) CHATTY: "If you need to relax, there are other ways, and I'm not talking about Arma's usual pleasure."
D) CHATTY: "Pretty sure, from what I've heard, you're multi-talented. Why not find another, less stressful line of work?"
E) FLIRTY: "If you need to relax, there are other ways, and I'm sure you know what sort of relaxation I am talking about~"

"Like what? What do you do to relax, bartender?"
