(Having your own species cannibalize each other will surely be great for your population in the long run)

And developing a calcite structure around it's core.

This one is competely unrelated to the first action about processing ability. You have to pick this or the other.

Also, How do I get the apex predator title thingy? I have the most population, so it’s not that. What are the requirements?

You prey on everything. Nothing preys on you (your own species do not count). King Sludgiboo preys on you, so you are out. Also, you are a parasite, you do micropredation. If you want it, then you may wanna speciate a branch to develop into a predator.

Ah.

Spilt once into a line that forgoes all parasitic elements for pure predatory power.

Mutation 2: Get little drills on the top of each tendril that allow the turnip to pierce and burrow into other animals much more efficiently, which coincidentally also lets them reach the beating heart of the giant sludigboo much faster where they generally deliver a deadly shock.

#1. LGEM Speciate into two sister species the Steering Urchinite:
A: Mutate sense of smell to find better find algae / avoid prey
B: Mutate translucence to make it harder to spot floating about in the water

#2. LGEM Speciate into two sister species the Cancer-free Pinecovy:
A: Mutate eyes so it can finally see what it's doing
B: Mutate electrogenesis to mess with electrolocation of predator/parasitic species (e.g., decoy sparks)

(ignore the calcite bit.) Structure is for the heart/brain to have something to build off of. (Ignore that bit if it doesn't actually work.)

The things are calm. It is mostly the same. Except the Translucent Urchinite went extinct as soon as it appeared. That must be a record!

Quote
Team X2
TricMagic:
1: Improve the cross-species population of Flagellating Snatchiblie, ONCE again: 4+1+(-2)= 3 (FINALLY! Praised be the Dice Gods!)
2: Split King Sludgiboo:
    A) A brain: 2+1=3
    B) Herbivory: 1 (I take it back.)
SS: 2

rolls about laughing like a mad blobbo.

Team X2
Emperor Sludgiboo develops... Photoreceptors? They form spots along it's membrane surrounded by nerves to see the movement and basic shape of things around them. The Emperor's Brain allows it to use these for defense and hunting nearby prey, which is pretty much the same thing to it.
Flat Roomboo develops base liquid to add to it's body, able to take of spores and seeds from plant life and transplant them. This also includes the ability to selectively cut off parts of the plant via holding it in the membrane between base membrane on it's outer skin and acid parts of itself. SS Roll.

Mutation 1: (Predator) The Job Finisher Turnip evolves a more durable and environmentally resistant flesh shell that it uses to weather the blows of other creatures and changes in climate.

Mutation 2: (Parasite) The Sickle Turnip capitalizes on other creatures internal electrical outputs and muscles.

when they attach to a creature they use their electricity to shock various muscles into moving, basically creating a rough version of body control. They do this not only to hide from predators, but also to allow a few meme ears of their own species to hop on their host if they don’t have one of their own.

Poor Translucent Urchinite. I had misread one of the other predators, thinking the eyespots were eyes. That was totally on me.

Time for some intelligence to interpret these light signals???

Mutate Lightseer Pinecovy: Brain

Mutate Eyeful Seagranate: Brain

Bound to work on one of them.

Turn 11

The Events

Power: 74
Temperament: 7 (oh wow)

The Actions
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The World

The multicelluar algea have undergone a rapid chain of accelerated evolution, turning into a more organised, seaweed like organism. The ancestral form is still here, but the larger size and sun catching ability of the seaweed means that the seamount has transformed into a seaweed meadow.

Eyeful Seagranate has gone extinct die to increased predation and malignant mutations that hindered its lateral splitting to reproduce.

Oh and to be able to jump from proto-animal to just animal, a species needs...

-A specialised way to get food (All species have them already)
-A respiratory track (Only the turnips possess gills)
-Muscles (All lineages have at least 1 species with someting analogous with musculature)
-A circulatory system (Almost all species have it)
-A nervous system (Most has it)
-Some specialised form of reprodiction other than splitting in half. (Only the Sludgiboo order has it)

Time to make the jump.

Team X2
Emperor Sludgiboo develops a method of chemical separation, taking in oxygen from the water around it to heighten it's nervous and musculature-like systems.
The APEX animal approaches. It is a Slime.

Flagellating Snatchiblie crosspollinates with the Lilypads, gaining access to photosynthesis. As a result of this, it now hunts in both the higher and lower reaches. The new creature resembles a green blimp, it's tentacles around the bottom, and "sleeps" during sunny days on the surface, hunting during the night. SS Roll

Might as well try to make this thing into a fish.

Mutate gills/respiratory track for Lightseeker Pinecovy

Mutate egg-based reproduction for Lightseeker Pinecovy
