Well, there is seagrass and none of you eats it
What's currently preventing us from eating seagrass?

Most of you have no teeth, or jaws.

Should be noted most of the sludigoos could eat it. Given they ate most anything. Glidee mostly subsist off of seaweed right now though.

Seagrass is a case where you need teeth or some way to uproot it. (The old bletchi sludgiboo could too I think. Given it upturned the silt)

Plateface Dikencovy can already breathe air, has skin, and isn't reliant on using balleen like Sweeper, and almost has a working mouth, so honestly might be my best bet.

Speciate Plateface Dikencovy into two sister species:
1. Evolve jaw to chomp those face plates, finally getting a working mouth, to allow eating seagrass. Send it up to wallow on the shore of Lauv Island like a manatee. It can use its fins to roll around.
2. Also evolve a jaw but with [SS] and keep it in the shallows

(Spreading my bet with this one.)

Speciate Buffaloo Sazan into two sister species:
A: Improve gills, transforming into air-breathing lungs   (it rises up to the surface to breathe like a whale now)
B: Evolve a jaw for chewing, biting, tearing (until I evolve teeth, it can use hard skeletal plates) [SS]

(Buffaloo Sazan is my most advanced creature, so it makes sense to me to develop a strand of it in the direction of land-dwelling.)

Third vote! This guy already has legs, so it won't take long to improve him, so long as he doesn't go extinct first:

Speciate Burrower Nubnub into two sister species:
A: Evolve lungs alongside the gills (like an isopod) so it can predate above the shoreline. Send it up to the Lauv Island (where it maybe can eat Dikencovy?)
B: Mutate a liver for handling coralloo poison (for feeding on coralloos as well as the glidees) [SS]

Multiple Turnip’s worth of chemicals on a single thing can surely have no long term health risks

They shall seize the means of drug production and eat it. Also if food is going to evolve for higher reaches, it may develop an air bladder.

Majoral Turp: Capitalizing on its carnivorous digestive system, it develops a jaw of sharp teeth to bite and tear into prey as a method for more food/another combat option.

Majoral Turp: Basic lungs that combine with the gills, so they can now breathe air and water.

Symbiotic Turp: Due to the increasing complexity of its victims it has evolved to control its prey through chemicals that condition the host to follow the Turp’s will and electric body control.

Not sure why one is going for body control. Not sure if they even use chemicals given the slime base. Turnips don't even have a brain.

Kinda wondering how this will be treated. As proto-animals without a method of reproduction, will the old conflict with the outer new? Or will my SS roll actually be able to decide that fate as they cultivate them. Or vice versa.

You don’t need a brain to be smart, what my grandpappy always told me before he bought Jumanji

Not sure what this control can even do to help it though. Symbiotes don't need negative effects to be positive. Get your own symbiosis. You got a creature that can benefit too. Anyway, randomness go.

Turn 26

The Events

Power: 9
Temperament: N/A

The Actions
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The World

Nothing of interest happened.

Robust Sazan is extinct due to outcompetition.

The symbiosis between Turnip and Barbesium is going horribly. Turnip is too powerful and yet utterly clueless, and Barbesium has no adaptations to accomodate it in its body. Especially the chemical cocktail. Sludgiboo's have no muscles, they have a type of plasmic, fluid tissue. All the Turnip does is sending the Barbesium sky high at random intervals.

Yay? Drug production seized.
Quote
     ●Improve upon a faulty, vestigial,
or insufficent feature, which gets a
+1 in dice points due to it already
having a base to develop on.
This rule exists. Symbiosis has a base, just need to develop it fully.

Team X2
Junkie Barbesium works to develop the electrical circuit to make use of the turnip's energy, integrating the turnip itself into it's slime body. Excess turnip shall be dissolved as needed. [SS Roll]
Junkie Barbesium works with the chemicals of the turnip, storing them in their finshells. The finshells become more edged, connecting to shell-covered tentacles, and can be slashed into prey as they pass to send them on a sky-high ride. Excess chemicals are vented.
Toxic Coraloo Two: Venom Boogaloo. (Take 2 on air pores/landing)

One thing of interest. The Terrudoesn't actually have a method of reproducing on land, as they require sludgiboos. So how do they survive?
