Turn 29

The Events

Power: 48 (âğ)
Temperament: 1 (Only if this came in with a 90<. Anyways, minor extinction event now time now. You all really did manage to ride the ecosystem to the edge of a cliff.)

The Actions
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The World

It all started with that small, insignificant contagious cancer randomly mutating once again. It was just a small mutation really, but this alone, somehow, made it incredibly lethal to Seagranates, causing their extinction.

This caused more predation on Nubnubs, which also killed them off. And so with the total absence of prey taking its effect on the mostly omnivorous ecosystem, and the situation with the Falselily infestation causing Glidees to be near-extinct, here we are. It was inevitable, everyone!

Prime Seagranate, Jellosucker Nubnub, Antelope Sazan, Smarter Sazan, Toxic Corallo, My Little Yunus, Cunning Yunus and Gliding Planeasium, are all extinct. If it is not repaired, a complete ecosystem collapse is imminent.

I'm honestly surprised this game of chicken didn't have an end.

Team X2
Invasive Scourgy develops fruit bearing flowers, seeds and all. The seeds are extremely resistant to acid, and bloom into new Scourgy. This offers a source of food and reproduction. Lawnkeepers once more have something to pollinate. The flowers give off their own spore/pollen, but Lawnkeepers greatly increase productivity.[SS Roll]

Coastal Sludgebush evolves twiceover, settings down roots, literally, becoming a plant. Or mushroom as the case may be. Fern? It's flesh is spongy, and it's grasping roots strong. These roots can retract, and grasp solid objects to hold them in place as it buries into soil.[SS Roll]
It also develops lighter than air flight through a gas sack, creating a floating ball of greenery. It's roots keep it attached, and when it retracts them into it's body has it carried by the wind. It soaks up sunlight and rain wherever it goes. When it comes time to spread their spores, they fly free on the winds to drop them everywhere. [SS Roll]

Also a question, why are the giants still hunting in larger groups? As is, the Worldcrosser Turnip is about to make landfall. Or starve, either or.

Oh, right, they are supposed to take territories.

I like the 75^Invasive Scorgies.

Who's a good invasive species, you are~

More seriously, fruiting. Some of them may just end up dropping and rotting. But the flowering gives Lawnkeepers something to do and a food source.

These things specifically. They reach from ground up towards the sky.

Worldhopper Turnip: Develop a bladder full of air which it can activate to float all the way up to surface and back down.

Hydra Turnip: Develop environmental adaptations to help survive in new environments depending on where the it/host goes, ala fisher king.

Worldhopper Turnip: Increase the efficiency of the eyes with newfound electro vision, allowing it to see prey no matter where they are so the Worldhopper can track them down and feast.

I now kinda hope the plant completely fails and knightwing just wipes out the last of the populations. Or knightwing oversuceeds and just wipes out the last of the populations

x2 mutations on one version of Stargazers:

A. Mutate full jaw so it can actually chow down properly
B. Improve gut into a three-stage plant-matter fermenting chambers, specialising in a herbivorous/plantimal diet [SS]

Speciate the Livyat into two sister species:

1. Mutate kidney-like organs which filtrate the system, immunising against Turnip chemicals and Turp venom
2. Mutate ears, specifically to hear the beating heart of the Invasive Scourgy, to more efficiently feed on them. [SS]

Turn 30

The Events

Power: 41
Temperament: 2

The Actions
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The World

A meteor shower hit the seamount, which caused many small meteor fragments to be deposited onto the seafloor. This increased the concentration of heavy metals in the seamount as a whole, causing minor toxicity everywhere.

Hammerhead Sazan and Deaf Sazan are extinct.

Uplift is finally with the times.

Team X2 is also the first and only to reach full numbers. 100 baby!
Lawnkeepers are also in fine straits. Plenty of food and work to do~

Team X2
Roaming Wandertree develops shoots of leaves, to increase the amount of sun their floating forms can get. Like beach parasols they float in the wind.
Chimeric Flufiflimp develops shoots of leaves alongside fins, able to improve it's swimming ability and sunbathing, better able to dive and ascend.
Fae Barbesium fully incorporates drug production into their biology, ridding themselves of Hydra Turnips in favor of their own reproduced variant. [SS Roll]
