I wasn't aware you could move without legs, i've seen other npcs stopped in their tracks once just one of their legs were broken but i guess its different for the main adventurer.

My human spearman is no legendary anything except thrower *cough* but he has his share of stories. Before i had a gang to help me, i was walking among the plains when 2 alligators attacked. The first one i killed but not before he bit into my chest and right arm. The second one took a bit of work and left me heavily bleeding and moving at a very slow pace. I tried to crawl away and then a gazelle came in to try and pick me off while i was weak. Amazingly i quickly stabbed its legs and got it down to level with me. So there we were, a gazelle and a spearman bleeding out onto the ground, trying to fight each other. I would prod at him with my spear and he would try to scratch me, and in my mind it looked very akward but hilarious

I was just looting a ruin like normal when a few undead come toward me. I think "no big deal I'll just hammer them and go grab that crown over there." I walk over and swing at them killing a some. I keep swinging to see that a the axelord I was sent to kill came out. The weak skelton are between me and him so I decide to clear a path. Their are 4 within attacking distance. As I kill the middle skeleton a macelord shows up with some zombies. I go at the axelord, thinking I can kill him before the macelord gets closer. I sprain his hip, dent a leg, break off some unused fingers and smash a foot; nothing deadly.

At this point there are  4-5 skeletons to my back, a axelord to my front and a macelord with 3-4 zombies 5 steps to the south I decide to disengage and make a run for the north. Getting a little tired A random skeleton gets a grip on my left foot, knocking me down. As I try to break his grip, the weaker undead suround my completely.

I get him off me but am still on the ground. I stand but they dogpile me, each getting knocked back but one stuns me for a turn. I try to stand again only to get knock flat on my butt. The I get unstuned and stand successfuly but can't go anywhere without having to crush one of them. Even If I do kill one, the axelord or the macelord will take their place. I'm almost exhuasted by now and pass out. I manage to fall into a defenseable position and the undead's blows just glance off my for quite a while. After about 20 tuens of being out cold, one tears out an eyeball and I bleed out.

My elven archer went up against a dragon. It ate all but one of my meatshields before I put an arrow through its eyes and knocked it out. I didn't want to waste arrows, so I pulled out a spear and tried to finish it off.

You know what they say about poking sleeping dragons? Yeah... It woke up just long enough to rip me apart with one hit before passing out again and eventually bleeding to death. The one surviving axeman from my party got the credit for the kill, too, and he never managed to pierce its scaly hide (though not for lack of trying).

Shortly after, a group of bowmen and swordmen charged at us, killing almosr all of my allies while I was unconsious, but the brave Pikemaster and an Axe lord saved me.

I was showing my cousin adventure mode, I created a standard-fare swordsman and went to take on an ettin, after killing a few mudmen, I encountered it right at the mouth of the cave. To avoid being swamped I escaped outdoors and it followed. Well my sword gashed its arm on the first strike, then its punch broke my sword arm. Shield bashing was proving unsuccessful, in the meantime it broke my left hip.

My cousin is lurking over my shoulder cackling "You're so friggin' dead bro." I try  in desperation to wrestle it to the floor with me while it is slowly placing a lock on my working leg. As a last resort, truly believing my life is forfeit I pick up my sword from the floor and throw it at the ettin. It goes sideways through the upper body piercing both lungs and the heart.

The ettin falls over from pain, and is dead by the time I wrestle my sword from its torso. I crawl off the map victorious.

Being utterly new to adventure mode, I decide to play with the Play now! mode on a fortress I abandoned just to do this.

Little did I know I would start with virtually no skills no armor etc etc...

I went in, got confused by the constant changes in direction, and trying to leave a goblin found me. I tried moving onto it to attack, guess that works to attack, because it got hit, don't remember where.  It must have screamed or something, because over the next few moves, the room I was in (6x6 with three doorways) was completely filled with goblins which tore me literally into pieces.

About my third adventure or so, I had gotten two Sworddwarves, two Speardwarves, and a Macedwarf to join me.  We went off the slay a dragon.  We got out butts kicked by a group of lions.  That is my problem with the game.  I only ever die when I get ganged up on.  And I always do.
