I found a mead hall called "The Destruction of Women."

... that's not a good idea.
My theory is that Dwarf Fortress is set in a post apocalyptic world where feminists and anti-feminists decided to play a game of "catch the ICBM".

...?

Or "The End of Cells." A certain kind of haploid cell, to be specific.

It'll be the end of all cells eventually.

Latest world had a human vampire who at one point became a bard. Fitting, considering it just so happens her surname was "Shakespears".

An adventurer of mine was exploring a bandit infested forest retreat, ending with the amputation of one of his arms. I quickly fled and retired him elsewhere. Upon further review in Legends mode, it seems the site government of his hometown was The Fellowship of Limbs.

A couple of worlds ago, I played Adventure Mode, (ab-)using DFhack's 'bodyswap' and 'reveal' commands basically whenever I wanted.
I bodyswapped into an albatross to fly across an ocean. It took me some time to notice but when it hit me, it hit me like a truck.
The ocean was called "The Water of Falls".
It's less funny, more just 'goddammit'. Just pure, unadulterated disappointment.
I guess "water" and "fall(s)" are indeed related terms, but really?
The word formed by combining (concatenating being the technical term, as I've been led to believe) the words "water" and "fall" in that order is "waterfall", an awe-inspiring thing to see in person.
But the concept most closely associated with "water" and "falls" is that of death, of lasting injury. A reminder that we are all mortal, that unexpected stuff like this occurs, that we have to prepare for such 'personal disasters', essentially.

Clearly, some unfortunate fortress/town/elven retreat/dark pit near this godforsaken ocean decided to found their respective version of a town near, like a cliff. And people just kept slipping, and a decent proportion fell into the ocean, never to be seen again. Heroes, villains, criminals, mere peasants; it didn't matter.
All that mattered was that falling into this ocean was a constant, some constant "c" that just shaved years off of the average lifespan of residents of this place.

Arise, thread! Arise and serve!

"Better Hamlet", by Aban Tomescorched. The prose is amateurish at best. Maybe the human "Hamlet" was superior after all?

Elven Civ: Muscular Pine. Oh my.

"After Reproduction": a manual penned by the female dwarf Kol Busttrusted. The writing bubbles over with cheerfulness. She also worshipped the dwarven god of hospitality named The Cheerful Bread, so that sorta makes sense.

Rusmo Spurteddusts, an FB with... why, deadly spittle of course.
