Not to be mean, but 50.05 Classic looks not-very-good.

That it's just an ASCII reskin of the Steam release is pretty awkward.

Why is all of the hand-holding stuff in the game if only veterans of the series are going to be playing the ASCII version?

I also miss the arrow keys, and not needing to use the mouse for everything.

Oh, and being able to see the map in Legends mode.

And bronze having a reason for existing.

There is only one game. The interface that was in 47.05 is gone. There is only one interface now. With an option to swap between ascii-style tilesets and graphics to interact with it.

The ascii-mode being incomplete right now (as stated on its release).

Legends Mode Maps and export to be added.
More keyboard functionality to be added.
Arrow keys. Perfectly functional, did you miss the keybindings screen?

There hasn't been a release since all of these things were mentioned to be coming soon, so what's the point of this post at all?

And bronze statement is just obtuse. What bug are you referring to?

Yes, ascii mode is a texture pack that should not be treated separately from the regular game, which has been facelifted into a different experience.

The key-bindings section is obtuse. I just think that replacing the arrow keys with WASD was a poor decision, since a lot of people use laptops.

The mouse is still overused; you cannot play without it now, whereas you couldn't play with it before, and there should be a balance. The stuff you have to click on in Classic is far smaller than what you have to click on in Premium.

Bronze is worthless and useless in this version, because Toady made flux far-more-common in the release before v50 and iron far-more-common in v50. It has no reason to exist anymore, as long as wood can be used to create fuel that can melt iron (when you need temperatures that can smelt iron to get charcoal that can reach those temperatures).

Currently this version is a downgrade in a few respects other than visual and "ease-of-use", with the visuals and ease-of-use not being there in Classic (so what was the point of v50 Classic, if it's now worse than it was before?).

Toady should've charged $30 for the ASCII version, making money off of nostalgia and all that.
