Attack speed of a weapon

Hello,

does the attack speed of a weapon in fortress mode depend on anything else but the prepare and recover values? Do dwarves with smaller sized / lighter weapons hit more often?

I'd also like to know this. I'm messing around with the prepare and recover values of weapons. Do these values only matter in adventure mode or do they affect fortress mode combat as well?

Speed of an enemy mounted on a horse/beakdog or whatever is apparently taken into account (since fairly recent updates to mounts - maybe with the force updates?).
