« on: February 28, 2023, 06:52:42 pm »

I am curious why they exist and if people use them.

That would be a mod that brings DF up to the, you know... standard.

FPS in Gravearmor (850+ dwarves) is 3-6 (v0.47.05 lives on).

I... don't think that answers the question. What is the standard you are talking about?

I believe OP is referring to mods that make all the different varieties of wood, stone and make them into just "Wood", "Stone" for simplicity. I don't use them, takes the flavor out of the game.

Oh, really? No. Was originally an fps thing wasn't it? Have been so many optimizations since then it doesn't seem worth doing. You lose far more than you gain.
And I guess anyone who doesn't like the variety is already just modding it out themselves.

The OP would have to answer that, I guess.  It's not for me to know.  Up until this point, they're just letting us guess.

Ok, sorry about not responding to you earlier. I was going to, then forgot, then remembered today. Yes, the all types of wood to just wood and stone to stone and bone to bone thing is correct. Sorry about not being clearer, my bad.
